the #2 ranked team in the Nation. I agree it is ########, but what can we do? We have to wait until our showdown with them to prove what they are. FRAUDS! A team who wins by the skin of its teeth 60% of the time. But they have the "SEC card" they can pull out and say, "well those games were against SEC teams, they will finish at least 3rd in the ACC." Give me a break

Isn't that what all teams rely on... you don't normally move up unless someone in front of you loses right? Whether by your hand or someone else's... SMH!

They did beat Mizzou, and UCF both in the top 15

Wrong. When we beat UGA we played fully healthy UGA squad that was preparing all off season for our opener. Lets not forget that was the same team offensively (and somewhat defensively) that almost beat Bama in the SECCCG. Their "Gurley" runningback team, Aaron Murray, etc.... UGA was in the hunt for the Heisman and the MNC, and at full health they are a team that has the talent and ability to play in that game.
So, yes, our win over UGA was HUGE. A win over UGA now with their entire team cripple with injuries everywhere is not a big challenge. However, if UGA had a fully healthy team you can bet they would be at 1 loss or undefeated.

I see what's going on... Just like FSU jumped up right before they played us - then Miami got the bump before the FSU game. They have to bump SC before they play us, so that ESPN can hype "The game of the century!!!"
The upside to that is, WHEN we beat them, we've knocked off another Top-10 team (wink wink) instead of the #21-22 they should be ranked. It can only help us, and can't hurt us. But I agree - it is BS, and is ESPN manipulating the rankings.

with an elite, record setting QB, the best WR in the nation (with one of the best supporting WR corps in the nation), with a hard hitting rusher in McDowell that can match anything Davis can do, paired with our hard hitting power back Zac Brooks, complimented by our top 15 defense that leads the NCAA in sacks (where you at Clowney?) and team tackles for a loss will beat a weak Carolina team whose coaches fight on the sidelines, whose star player (dubbed "the best football player ever" by ESPN) a guy who was the Heisman frontrunner and projected to go 1st in the draft who sat out HALF of the season because he was too much of a lazy ##### to go play ball, AND they LOST to Tennessee and barely scraped out wins over Vandy, UCF (who had USuC shut out for almost 3 quarters...), Kentucky, and Mizzou?
Yes. I think we will beat the dirt peckers QUITE handily. Clemson 35, USuC 17.

Using the logic on this board, UGa has 2 wins over top 15 BCS teams and two of their losses are to top 10 BCS teams... who do you rank ahead of them? It's called strength of schedule.

Somebody please give an actual argument as to why
Nov 12, 2013, 9:40 AM
[ in reply to also BS that A&M is 11 and UGa is 23 with 3 losses*** ] |

it's BS. It's easy to say stuff, but i want to see somebody actually try to make a case as to why this is so.
To start with, # of losses don't mean everything. I have absolutely no problem rating some 2-loss teams ahead of some 1-loss teams if i feel they are better and have played a tougher schedule. My reservations about A&M are due to the their defense giving up 40 a game, not because they have 2 losses.
Now let's go one step further. In order for it be a joke that SC is #10, A&M is #11, and UGA is #25 (they are 25, not 23 as you say) there must be teams behind them that are more deserving. We need to look at these teams ranked 12-15, etc and see if a case can be made. Easy enough...
#12 Oklahoma State - Only 1 loss (i know you guys get hung up on this), but they've played one of the weakest schedules in the country. Not a single team that they have played is currently ranked, and only two have winning records. They lost to a terrible WVU team. Those is not a top-10 team and the computer polls barely even have them ranked in the top 25. OK ST has NOT proven they are better than SC or A&M
#13 UCLA - Same record, but haven't played well against better competition. One pretty good win @Nebraska, but they got blown out by Stanford and Oregon. I might have them above A&M, but not SC.
#14 and #15 - Fresno and Northern Illinois - NO
#16 Michigan St - Terrible schedule and lost to ND. Their best win right now is Michigan and that's really not saying much.
As for UGA - They are mostly ranked ahead of other 3 loss teams, so who really cares? They beat some good teams before the injuries piled up. No other team ranked 26-30 has wins as good as SC and LSU or a schedule that ranks up there with what UGA has played.

What exactly are voters giving to Clemson to have them ranked highly?
Win over UGA by 3 at home
Big loss at home to FSU
At 6-3 UGA has the best record of anyone Clemson has beaten. This is my argument for why the ACC screws Clemson. You have to go out of conference to find a decent team to play and get a win. If USC and UGA win out Clemson gets wins over both they will be the best wins on the books? That does not set up well for the future? You want big games in conference and the ACC does not give that to the Tigers
30-35 that's the overall record of the teams Clemson has beaten
