I grind some Kicking Horse,

and use a French Press with hot water.

Been doing this for years, great coffee is the result.

I buy locally roasted coffee from a guy who stared a business roasting in his garage. Always used filtered water. At home I have a Moccamaster but use a French press on occasion and at the beach. The Moccamaster is a little expensive but the difference in the coffee from a Standard drip machine is night & day.

That’s the one. Has no bells or whistles but heats the water before dripping on the coffee which is key.

Other than cold-brew methods, don’t all coffeemakers heat the water before it gets to the grounds?

Thanks! I’ll check them out. There are a few good roasters down this way as well. Yellow Bike Coffee in Easley, Blackwater in Seneca and Jacks Crack if you like a darker roast.

Scientifically you win. Coffee flavor starts to degrade the moment the beans are ground. French press is the superior way to extract the most amount of flavor. The only scientific part you’re skipping is the perfect pH of water.

I have never liked coffee... not even the smell of it.

I am the same way Pig. I don't drink coffee. I have one soda in the morning for my caffeine addiction.

No-Doz pills, and mainlining so much coffee cramming for that final descent-into-hell Organic Chemistry final, that I told him if he allowed me to pass and graduate, I would never drink coffee again. I have kept that vow since graduation day.

It's not really that hard. I never really cared that much for coffee anyway, it was just a way to stay awake.

I finally got use to the Keurig one cup packs and that's what I drink now since I'm the only one that drinks coffee in my house. The single shot packs that I buy, the Dunkin donut brand seems to be the best for my liking.

Stewart's coffee shipped to the house brewed in a good old fashioned Mr. Coffee. If I ever want a cup later in the day, I'll use the Kuerig.

Starbucks Pike Place black. Usually in a Keurig, but once in a while I’ll use a French press.

We fresh grind beans roasted in Central America, and use a pour over kettle. It is far superior to an electric coffee maker. Then add frothed milk, it’s better than anything I can get in a coffee shop around here

Do Folgers K cups, and occasionally buy some off the wall coffee and put it into a K cup. My coffee is average at best but it currently meets my needs. Percolator’s were my favorite but do not even own one now. Usually only making a cup or 2 to go so would not be as convenient.

Summer I make Cold Brew.
Other 3 seasons French press.
Typically use local roasted beans, ground daily.

I only drink it black.
Grandpa, WII vet, raised me and he said drink it black or I don't get any. So I drank it back!

Used a French press for years, but found that the metal screen type filters let a lot of stuff through that’s pretty heart-unhealthy.

These things:
https://a.co/d/dfdZO7m

…work on a similar principle, but use a paper filter. You also push the water through the grounds under pressure. Downside is one cup per squeeze, though they do sell a larger one.

Does make great coffee and has a cult-like following - there’s even an Aeropress World Championship every year.

You supply the hot water - I use an electric kettle.
