Good read.
Some people seem to think it means that the Clemson standard is winning a Natty every year. That's never been the standard, or even feasible, at any program. It's always been about being the best version of you: on and off the football field.

Football program graduating and developing great people-Yes
WBB - Yes
Football winning championships - not likely unless Dabo changes his rules or the settlement levels the playing field

When he said that, it was true. But the environment surrounding college athletics has changed dramatically; and given our current and future lack of conf revenue, we will not be able to compete with the "haves". The rich get richer and the rest of us . . . well you know the rest.

I think he's one of these types that is an innovator and will try to figure out a way to make it work without compromising his ethics and values. Not sure he's found it yet but maybe he's working on things with the NCAA to change the rules in the background. It will go a long way if they can just re-instate the 1 year sit out transfer rule. He's just been vocal about the cheating and tampering and to just drop all that conviction and fall in line with all that is not in his DNA. What we need to hope for them to clean up the rules. I think if he could team up with his buddy Nick Saban and petition for these rule changes it could really help change College Football for the better.

They can't reinstate it without at least one if the following:
1. The decision being overturned by a higher court.
2. An antitrust exemption, which is unlikely given the more important things Congress will have in it's plate.
3. Even if an antitrust exe option is granted, it may not affect the transfer sit out rule, as the transfer rule discriminates against athletes compared to non athletes.

I fixed the subject header. This crock of sh*t came out last year. Yeah just adjust the meaning to make ourselves feel better. The fact is we aren’t hitting the basic team goals, it unacceptable and it’s certainly not at our standard
Win the opener- 23+24 nope
Win the state- 23 nope 24 we should
Win the division/make the ACCCG - 23 nope, 24 unlikely
Win the conference- 23 nope, 24 unlikely
Win the closer - 23 yes, 24 TBD
So assuming we beat cocky this year and win our bowl game that will mean we are 3/10 on our goals the last 2 years, but yeah keep telling yourselves that is definitely “best”
