Not have a plan for a solid RB? That’s the one question i have. You have an entire off season, to recruit, use the portal, and then to now have a starting RB, what is going on? Star the young guy, do something… yes I know then Oline play was bad, but we can’t expect much if we can’t run the ball….

Elite and bad offensive line is an oxymoron.

We were elite pre-portal. The friends and family recruits are too slow, and our team plays at a different speed (a different tier than Miami and ND). Coupled with poor coaching and no scheme, it will be tough to keep up.

As I have said, Riley doesn't know how to adjust to what the defense is doing. He has a plan going in and has NO ideas how to adjust. The o- line is struggling. But he doesn't call anything to get the ball out of Cabes hands quicker. It better to try something different than to keep doing the same things over and over. Defense wise I think they will be ok. They played well enough to win. You expect a shutout.

The offensive line is the problem. It doesn't matter who you have it run a back if you can't block.

It legitimately seems like the plan was to just figure it out as the season unfolded and use a rotational system.
I wonder what happened in camp to lead to this decision.

If no one player stands out above the others, then that's generally what teams do. That's exactly what happened with LSU last year ironically. The announcers alluded to it. Their running back they have now did well against South Carolina last year, and cemented his spot.
Again, if the offense of line is that bad at blocking, it won't matter who's playing it running back.
