I just checked. Latest report is you will have heavy rain till early tomorrow afternoon. Weather Channel is saying you may get an additional 8-10 inches from what you've already had.
Hope everybody is doing well. Do you expect, or have you already had power outages?

.... about 40 or so miles from gulf coast and Atlantic coast. We've only had one band come through, this morning, and it wasn't bad. We've had partly cloudy weather most of the day.
We'll get rain from about 8:00 tonight until 4:00 in the morning. Wind gusts in the 30's for 4 or 5 hours or so. Nothing bad. I doubt we will lose power at any point.
I've got a doctor's appointment at 9:00 AM tomorrow. Should have no problem making that.

You near Lakeland?
It's always high and dry.
Called a friend/mentor/former boss he lives between Gainesville and Starke said it's spitting a little. He's enjoying some bourbon on the porch looking at gators float in the lake lol.

I'm NW of Orlando. Right on the ridge that runs down the middle of the state. The "continental divide" separating the runoff from the Atlantic to the Gulf runs though our county. Our biggest concern would be wind, not rain. But, with Helene being more than 150 miles west of us, and moving quickly now, wind damage is highly unlikely.

We are in Winston-Salem and the rain just picked up from drizzle to pretty heavy. We are expecting strong winds in the am, with rain and an eye out for tornadoes. Our school system conducted robo calls earlier to notify families of school closure for Friday. I believe all after school activities have been cancelled as well.

We had 2 thunderstorms Tuesday, one in the late afternoon and one in the evening, light rain yesterday but heavier overnight, then steady rain earlier today to heavy rain now. We are already have 7.5 inches of rain on the hill in Six Mile through 5:45 PM today. All this from a low pressure system not even associated with Helene. I just can't wait for the wave of rain from Helene to show up early tomorrow morning.
So far it's about double the total rain we had the past 3 months.

This morning the path was projected to take the eye directly through Tallahassee. Now, it looks like the eye will pass just east of it.
Still projected to get 100+ mph winds early tomorrow morning (before sunrise). Tallahassee is a heavily treed area. Expect a lot of wind damage including hundreds of huge oak trees downed. Lots of property damage due to debris including trees on houses, businesses, etc.

Just saw the latest advisory has her at a Cat 4 947 MB central pressure and 130 sustained winds. That’s Hugo territory and still has a few hours to strengthen. Take care down there!

Just a lot of rain so far, but the forecast keeps getting worse. Looks like we will have 50mph wind with gusts up to 70mph early tomorrow morning. Expecting the power to go out, just hoping no trees fall on the house.

12.2 inches of rain since Tuesday night near Pickens. At least we had light rain today which allowed for some draining to take place. But between 2 and 5 am this morning...it was a constant downpour.
Worried about the wind tomorrow.
