House Bill that gutted 880 billion from Medicaid did not have a "no tip tax"...

....or a "no tax on overtime" provision.

Didn’t stop the MAGA crowd from screaming that Democrats voted against them, though.

How hard is it to actually check before losing your mind?

Meanwhile, House Republicans couldn’t even throw working families that tiny bone.

And wasn’t it just two weeks ago that Trump swore—again—that he wouldn’t touch Social Security or Medicare?

Oh, and before you even try, you’re not going to find $880 billion in Medicaid fraud. That’s their entire budget. If they actually cared about cutting costs, they’d let Medicaid bargain with Big Pharma.

But nah, can’t have that. Guess some people are in for a rude awakening when the leopards come for their faces. Shoot, who am I kidding? They'll blame Biden somehow.

Some people are so gullible.

Nothing about tips or overtime, but it does require the committee that oversees Medicaid, Medicare, and the Children's Health Insurance Program to cut spending by $880 billion. It also increases the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.

Oh, and up to $4.5 trillion in tax cuts

So the plan is to add $4 trillion to the national debt and cut healthcare programs so rich people can pay less in taxes.

Doesn't it get tiring

You gonna get triggered for the next 3.7 years over everything that gets sent to your phone?

Why not just be comfortable in your beliefs that all pubs and conservatives:

- lie
- believe lies
- have no morals
- hate everyone not white and conservative
- want to own slaves again
- want to have cops shoot unarmed black men and get away with it
- want to eliminate the democrat party
- really wanted to overthrow the gubment on Jan 6th
- are against law and order
- want to outlaw gay marriage and gay bars
- ...

and move on with your life.

Because why engage with actual points when you can just make a list of exaggerated strawmen instead? If you’re this desperate to avoid addressing the actual discussion, maybe you’re the one who's a little too uncomfortable with reality.

of current policy.

If you have an eval at work and your salary remains unchanged, do you count it as a raise if your boss says you were originally going to get a 5% pay cut?

And you know dang well putting an absolute $ value on a tax cut based on a static economic model is BS.

Good, it’s a good start. Next Medicare, SS, and defense. Everyone wants a balanced budget and lower debt, but there aren’t enough DEI air traffic controllers you can fire to make it happen. A balanced budget requires equal distribution of the pain.

Then why did they need to raise the debt ceiling by 4 trillion?

They aren’t balancing the budget, they are literally taking from grandma to give to billionaires. Sickening.

I’m not a billionaire, extending the Trump 2017 tax cuts helps me.

I’m under no pretense that Donald Trump or the current Congress are serious people, let alone serious enough to actually address the spending issue and communicate like adults, but let’s just be real with each other and ourselves, there is no balanced budget without addressing the four items that make up 75% of annual spend.

I agree. Let's start with cutting the entirely exaggerated charges that doctors

are two very different animals.

What a doctor charges for a procedure has zero to do with what he or she is subsequently reimbursed, unless a person has no insurance, in which case the physician generally eats all or most of it and is also unable to write off that loss.

If Medicaid is cut just a little, most docs will opt out and Medicare wouldn't be far behind.

Extending the current tax rates is not "giving" anything to anybody....

First, the money is the taxpayers that is "given" to the government...not the other way around.

Second, the TCJA of 2017 lowered all brackets...not just for the "rich". The idea that a tax cut should be measured in absolute $s is insane...and normally done by the same ppl who falsely claim that the wealthy don't "pay their fair share." Aka...people who can't read the IRS tax stats.

This bill isn’t cutting Medicare. No one who is on Medicaid the right way is going to lose it.
Btw Medicaid sucks, most good doctors don’t accept it.

Did you see the answer Hakeem Jeffries gave when a reporter asked him what proof he has that 880 billion will be cut from Medicaid? Hey Hakeem, put up or shut up! His answer was a disaster.
Now to your point about Medicaid. Yes, in many cases it’s a disaster. In some cases it’s needed and in others it’s fraud. We just need to make sure it only pays for the most vulnerable and truly needy. Everyone should want that.

The House Committee on Energy and Commerce won't be able to cut $880 billion in spending without cutting Medicaid, Medicare, and/or CHIP. It's mathematically impossible.

Will the most vulnerable be cut off or the fraudsters? Lots of money can be saved by getting rid of the system abusers.

A lot of vulnerable people will be affected. Poor red states like Alabama are having trouble keeping their rural hospitals open with their current budget. Cutting Medicaid funding will be devastating.
