Any college athletes that thinks they are above team with their flashy antics and me me me attitude, I hope you get humbled up quick like if you make it to the next level.

Well, if you can make money off your labor in America it’s a problem? NFL careers are typically short and rookie contracts limit salary. It’s not high school and drafts and pro careers are limited. Eventually the system has to be financially viable to survive. The college model is flawed and unsustainable. Why should coaches get paid millions off of the players labor? The failure of the NCAA and schools led to this flawed structure. Now we have play for pay without adequate structure. 2025: a college sports odyssey!

Well never mentioned anything about players getting paid. It’s the big heads they have that I’m talking about.

Deion Sanders started the extreme selfish showboating in my opinion.

Ok fair. But pro athletes are bad role models. Athletes can get pampered at any level. Now college is like semi pro. A kids ego can get inflated by family, friends and agents combined with what they see in pro sports. Team is now an employer more than a school. People generally work for money. But employers pay what they have to in a market and employment is not guaranteed. The result is ego or perceived value driven behavior.

i do agree that there should be an "agreed upon" cap. Regardless to all factors

there is always a budget and the players should be educated on what is realistic and what is arbitrary in terms of what they're asking for. This would be for their safety and the institutions safety. The QB from Tennessee has cost himself millions in terms of the hit to his reputation and it will echo into his professional aspirations. Probably didn't need to go that way had he been properly prepared. The agents for these kids don't care about those kids they care about their cut.

It's primarily a function of where the money flows

Clemson alums and fans love Football and have supported and turned out for good and bad fans for 50+ years. As Dabo states, the fun (and a lot of the money) is in the winning. E.g. See Clemson and Athens campus and town rebuilds (and prices) before and and after recent national championships.

High quality athletes and coaches certainly stir the drink. But they show up for the schools and programs that support their teams. This includes Clemson with an exclamation point!

Dabo has taken it to another level and deserves most of the credit for Clemson football success over the past 15 years. Props also to DW4, CW42, the Power Rangers, BV, TL16, ETN, and many more. The money used to flow to the schools, the conferences, the NCAA, and the head coaches. Now the players are getting a piece of the pie and the regulation of this change has created uncertainty and loopholes.

The Big 2 and then a super conference looms in the future for Clemson. But rest assured the SEC and B1G commissioners and presidents, with guidance from the Fox Sports and ESPN, will alleviate the uncertainty regarding above-board payment of athletes and re-level the playing field so the money flow steers back to the schools and the conferences. The players and their agents now have a momentary upper hand which will not last.
