Mutual opponent scores matter. Let's say a spot on the playoffs comes down to us or Tennessee... they won by 41, we played a shootout with them and won by 24. It could cost us a spot. We need to wait to let off the gas or it will cost us eventually.

Ok Dr Watson. Or.... and hear me out here, I was involved with the Tigers program until last year and signed a contract not to post or comment on anything not sanctioned by the coaches until now. I work in another career now so I am free to do as I please. I hope Clemson beats SCar by 100 btw and I hope we win it all this year. It is okay to not always blow sunshine and rainbows when you see issues. Also, Scar almost lost to ODU and will not even make a bowl this year so they are completely irrelevant. We need to worry more about UGA and any team that has a good receiving corp

You really think if it came down to us and Tenn, the score of this game matters one iota? Tenn will get in 11 times out of 10. 5-6 SEC teams are guaranteed spots no matter what.

The committee has stated multiple times that they pay no attention to scores. They didn't say but it seems obvious that teams change from the early season to the end. Therefore, a 5 point win in early season against team A might be a 21 point win against them late in the season which the subjective might see as the team which played team A later to be better than the team which played them early in the season.
All three teams in that example can be quite difference between early and late season. Besides player getting health and after missing early season games may return and add to their teams quality. Injuries to key players might also occur and the POC has no time or will to do indepth research on personnel.
Offenses are notorious for being unorganized and starting a season clumsily only to be fantastic in late season games.
So, no the POC pays no attention to scores.
