What a credit to our University!
James only wanted a chance at pro ball.
Now he has it and hopefully gets a decent payday while proving he's capable.
If pro ball doesn't work out and he's interested in coaching, Dabo will be there for him.
Thanks for five great years James and all because you love the game and your school.

That you win with players like Skalski.

If he can cover the running backs and Tight Ends, he will make the team….

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I’m glad he’s getting a chance, and I know he will make the most of it.

I would think special teams would be his best chance to get a foot in the door. If that doesn’t work out, he likely has a future in coaching.

There is a reason he was not drafted in the first 262 players. Nothing wrong with his attitude or effort - always gave it everything he had. He was a step slow, a bit undersized, and had tremendous problems getting off blocks. A step faster than Ben B but a lot of similarities that some fans won't acknowledge. He will be cut and I'm sure he will move on with something better and be very successful in whatever endeavor he chooses. Nothing wrong with giving it one last shot but when they start with 90 players in training camp and then cut to 53 (most veteran players) the odds become very long. Lots of undrafted players will be invited to training camps to fill out the scrimmages. That's normally as far as it goes (and of course there is the much hyped exception). Good luck to James.

Well, hello Coach Whisper---glad to see you have it all figured out. Less than 300 draft picks and you sigh as a FA with no chance. There have been some of the greatest players ever that began as FAs, sure glad that the NFL doesn't listen to people like you. ####!!!!

Guess you did not read the last sentence where I stated there were always a few exceptions. Clemson has had a few and they make great stories. Take Corey Hulsey (pardon me if that's too far back for you, but it was only 1999- I've been going to the Valley since 1965). A mountain of a man at 6'5 and 360 lbs. Basically flunked out of school and was not drafted as he was a bit raw coming out of Lula Ga. He hooked on as an undrafted free agent and played for many years in the NFL as an O lineman (guard). Raw perhaps, but the measurables and talent were obviously there but not fine tuned in 3 years. Not as much upside after a 5 year college career. So of course it happens on a rare occasion.

Well, maybe 320, but I don't want to ruin a good tall tale.

Hope the Colts give Skalski a real chance to show what he

Remember when the Washington Sentinels came back after being down 14 at halftime to Dallas just because Shane Falco had HEART and a good looking cheerleader giving him advice?

Skalski really wants to play in the NFL. I, for one, believe that he will.

Man, I hope this guy gets at least one good payday. If he can do that or even make a roster that would be better. I think his monetary future is as a coach but I would love for him to have a few yrs of NFL on his resume. What a great story if so happens! Then come fire up some DEF at Clemson with the heart of Venables.

Hope to see him on the field!

If there ever was one player who was All In, all the time, it James Skalski. I hope and pray this man makes it in the NFL.
