I WFH now so the gas price thing doesn't bother me any. Not a gun owner so don't have to worry about them taking my guns. My home is paid so rise in interest rates doesn't bother me too much. I'll pay a little extra in taxes if it means getting him out. Plus, So District of NY cannot wait for him to exit....they are just waiting....

They are controlled by worldwide supply and demand. Right now, the world’s economy has slowed drastically because of Covid. So... excess supply + lower demand = lower prices.

Very little, if any. Global crude oil production drives prices. Just look at right now - glut of global supply has led to lower gas prices. Nothing has changed from policies. That's basic economics. And there is a large segment of our economy that suffers when crude / gas prices drop.

No doubt there are many factors beyond the President's control that can and does affect the price of gas. But it is wrong to state that the President's actions can't have any affect on gas prices in the US.
I would also agree though that much like stock prices and many areas in the US economy, gas price is one of those things that the President often gets too much credit when the price is low, and too much blame when the price is high.

I watch this panel on a new show one night and they were like who are these idiots in America voting for Joe Biden when he doesn’t even know what city he’s in half the time and half the time thinks he’s running against George Bush not Donald Trump. They pointed out all of Joe Biden‘s scandals and said how in America are these tech companies and the mainstream media getting away with sweeping all of this under the rug. I mean it’s astounding when the media halfway around the world in another country is more honest than the #### media in America!
If the Democrats and the media and big tech companies especially social media or even remotely honest and objective Trump would have one in a landslide!
That’s OK, there was no blue wave, they lost 2 governorships, multiple state legislatures, they lost multiple members of the House of representatives making their majority very thin, and they are probably not going to regain the Senate! Thank God for that!

Would you mind explaining to me how Trump managed to not rid himself of the "Deep State" when he turned over everybody in his staff about six different times in four years? He went through White House Chiefs of Staff faster than Hogwarts went through Defense Against the Dark Arts instructors or Captain Kirk went through those nameless Security Team guys who wore red shirts.

It's not the people that Trump has appointed to lead agencies and departments, but the years and years of these departments being stocked with extreme liberals who eventually get into leadership positions. In DC once you are in the system you can even bounce around but there will always be a place for you as long as you are a liberal. It works that way a little in the conservative camp too, as long as you value yourself more as a DC swamp creature than a real statesman who would buck the system.

Oh, there's no doubt the Beltway is incredibly infested with connected careerists who all went to the right schools and came from the right families and are as entitled and smug a bunch as you'll find. I have no love for 'em and we as a country seriously need to do a better job of hiring outside that clique and making public office actual public service again.
But it's a culture, a lot more than an actual "Deep State", and that culture always conforms itself to the will of the Big Man In Charge. The only reason I supported Trump was because he is not like them. I can't stand him personally, but he didn't worry about not being invited to all of the the Washington cocktail parties, like both Democrats and Republicans alike. It is more important for them to be elected and remain part of the Washington "in crowd" (regardless of which side) than to sacrifice their self-interest for the good of our country. Everything having to do with guns is about to be bureaucratically regulated like never before and prices are going to skyrocket.
A gun is a worthless hunk of metal without ammunition. The Democrat's gun control agenda will start by heavily regulating ammunition to the point that it is ridiculously expensive and hard to get. Every conceivable bureaucratic wicket they can impose on the manufacture and sale of ammunition will be imposed. They will start by ending online ammunition sales which is one of the primary means of buying/selling ammunition. And while they are busy choking off the ammunition supply they will argue that this is not an infringement on any 2nd Amendment right.
At some point they will go after the manufacturers and dealers of guns and gun parts. As with ammunition - you can expect all online sales of guns and gun parts to end which will put a lot of dealers out of business. At the same time, the Democrats will pass legislation that removes civil liability protections from gun manufacturers (and possibly dealers) so that they can be sued for any incident that involves a gun. The goal is to drive gun manufacturers out of business through litigation and choking off the industries access to capital. No bank in their right mind is going to loan money to an industry that can be sued into bankruptcy the moment one of their products leaves the factory floor. And the Democrats will continue to argue that this is not an infringement on any 2nd Amendment right.

I just don't see that working. Blue states have always tried to regulate gun ownership more but at the end of the day the US of A is a gun culture and that especially isn't going to change with the current Supreme Court.
Think back also to a couple things we've seen folks try to regulate - fireworks and tattoos, for instance. South Carolina allowed the first when our neighbors outlawed them, and banned the second when our neighbors allowed it...so what you wound up with was a boatload of fireworks warehouses right off the interstate on our side of the border, and wall-to-wall tattoo parlors in places like Gastonia and Commerce on the other side.
Supply, meet demand.

The Biden Gun Plan link I posted above is very clear of what a Biden administration wants to implement in regards to gun control. In my view if this plan is implemented it will destroy the US gun industry while making gun ownership very expensive and very limited.
I understand your argument regarding the Blue states and gun regulation. When you peel that onion back, most "blue" states (Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina etc...) have "red" majority legislatures with "blue" Governors with their state agency appointees. In years past and n the present, there has been some semblance of a balance of power in most blue states which prohibits either side from going too far with 2nd Amendment issues.
That same balance of power dynamic is in serious jeopardy at the Federal level. If the Democrats gain a simple majority in the Senate (assuming they keep the House) there will be no balance of power IF the Democrats get rid of the legislative filibuster as many have alluded and suggested.
So while you are correct in that the "US of A is a gun culture and that especially isn't going to change with the current Supreme Court." That won't be true if the Democratic threats and rhetoric of packing the Supreme Court are met with legislation to do so.
I'm not one of these guys saying that the Government is going to take our guns - the sheer logistics of a national gun confiscation operation and the universal cooperation of law enforcement required to confiscate all the guns makes it highly improbable if not impossible. But there are other ways to neutralize gun ownership rights that do not require gun confiscation and that is the tact I believe the Democrats will employ in the near term.

Stock market is so over valued it reminds me of real estate in 2006. It really has to correct itself and would have done so even if Trump were in office. The real losers in all of this will be the poor and lower middle class. Cashiers will be a thing of the past and retail was already done well before mandated minimum wage hikes. Tech companies are designing systems to replace lower skilled wage workers and just about have that perfected. Sending everyone to a university does little to lift the masses and only serves to make a higher degree more generic. So much wrong with what they intend to do it’s scary!

I will put back in the corporate tax cut Trump put in place, he can't unless the Senate agrees to it and they will not do it under the current financial strain of the pandemic. Health insurance is my biggest concern. I was paying 390 in 2008 and when Obayme left office I was paying 595 and guess what Trump did not lower it but at least for 2021 I will still be paying 595.
