Exactly. Your original post was inviting people to speculate positively on us expecting POSITIVE things of DJ, so the "coot" claim is simply nonsense.
And, on that point, I agree. I think maybe DJ has some time to rest that knee, reset his brain, loosen up mentally, and for the staff to maybe make some adjustments here and there. All in all I think the break can't but help.

While he didn’t have crazy stats during UofSC game, I honestly thought he looked much more comfortable for whatever reason. Oline finally stepping up and a successful run game will do that to a QB I suppose. He missed a couple passes, but WR should have come down with several of those.

He didn't have to throw the ball in the second half of the last three games. I wonder what he would look like if we are trailing in the 4th and he has to throw......never mind. Saw what it looked like against Georgia, NC State, and Pittsburgh.

Unfortunately yes. Not much difference in our 4th Q passing than Q's 1-3 this season.
A nice gap in the season at this point could definitely do DJ a world of good. Surely don't see how it could hurt matters.

Listen, DJ5STARBUST just doesn’t have it. He also doesn’t have a QB coach to help him develope. If TP7 has not improved enough to even challenge DJ5STARBUST this late in the season. That coaching or Dabo is scared to death of Big Dave. QB coach, WR coach and O-Line coach should all be fired at years end.

Hoping for the same thing. Might depend on the quality of the opponent's defense. Doesn't look like any 'offense heavy' teams are being touted as our opponents though...

Part of that has to do with the Oline stepping up and our running game finally taking off but he’s done better. No where near where he needs to be or should be but with all the injuries to our WR’s I do believe he’s stepped up some towards the end of the season.
I hope to see him take another step forward in the bowl game.

Agreed C Orange. The O line made life somewhat easier in the S Carolina game. The big D gave the O plenty of time to use the playbook. But he's still no where near where he will have to be for a bowl game.
One thing I believe is for sure, There Will Be A Stiffer Competition for QB starting with Spring Practice. DJ5 will either have improved measurably, left the NIL crap at home (if he has any by then) and Step Up. As DS says, 'Next Man Up'

set as the point to start getting better from was so far below standard, and especially below the expectations that he himself had generated from his play last year, that it just defies explanation. If you compare his two starts last year vs ANY game this year, it is like you are looking at two completely different players. That is where the frustration comes from.

No cobwebs he just isn't good. He's thrown 9 TDs and 2 pick 6s to lose games this year. The strategy is to run shipley/pace and occasionally throw just to keep the defense honest. If we relied on DJs arm we would have a lot more losses this year. DJ is still ranked a bottom 2 QB in the entire nation with at least 250 pass attempts. He's god awful.
