Our play calling completely shifts against good teams. It’s noticeable. We play timid and not to lose. Our playbook becomes: run up the middle, screen, 5 yard throw, and punt.

Cade and Reilly knew they had to score a TD. A FG (if we could get it off!) and overtime wasn’t looking promising if we can tackle Sellers. He tried to make a play. Can’t fault him for that. Hats off to Beamer. They deserved it.

Yeah, but with 18 seconds left, and 2nd down you must throw it in the end zone 2 times and if you don’t connect try to tie it with FG. Checking it down should never be an option. That’s either poor coaching or bad decision making. The WB should be told before throw it in the end zone or throw it away.

No, we had a timeout and literally a few plays left. The oblong ball sometimes rolls funny. That last drive was good - just unlucky.
Would rather lose like that than a missed fg tbh.

I would bet 100% of all QB’s are better against non top 30 ranked opponents vs top 30 ranked opponents.

Cade bucked the trend yesterday.
Say what you want about past performances on the big stage but he was solid yesterday.
My question is why do we wait to go up tempo? Cade is almost unstoppable when we play fast. I actually had a sense of calm and control watching him march down the field similar to when DW4 managed those comeback drives.

For the most part he had a solid game. However, to be picky, he missed two wide open slants and one could have gone to the house. And you don’t check it down with 18 seconds to go. Coaches always say in close games 2 or 3 plays decide the game. I just gave you three we don’t make.

Cade was 24-36 for 280 yards. Rushed for 62 yards and 2 touchdown. I mean I think he did pretty good except for the pick on the coots 18 yard line.

And he had a QBR of almost 90. Sure the last TO sucked but when your QB plays that well and you've got 14pts to show for it there are plenty of fingers to be pointed elsewhere.

Most QBs play worse against better teams. Not really a surprise there and if we have an offense that requires us to have a QB play flawless football for us to have a chance to win the problem lies with the offense, not the QB. Cades made tremendous progress this season so blaming our offensive issues on him is way too simplistic.

Cade had a clean pocket for just about every single throw except one, when the USC DL jumped offsides (not called) and sacked him. It was a good performance by the OL. I'm sure they will grade out well on film.
