I’m told one of the big issues Coach had with Street is the progress of Cade through the season. Coach expected a little more and when it all came to bear last weekend Street implied his effort and time was largely consumed with DJ.

but that's how the world works. I'm sure Street did not perform to his own expectations, but Dabo and DJ had a good bit to do with that.
Street will be a good coach wherever he ends up. He just was not prepared for that role.
Which goes back to why he was hired in the first place but....

I think this is obviously true. I know I did, expect cade to take over during the season. All wee kept hearing was he wasn't ready. Who else do you look at than Streeter?

Personally i think it was more on our recievers lackluster rout running, agressiveness, and even blocking. And when they did catch the ball sometimes over agressiveness just to get a extra quarter yard resulting in fumbles. The O-line was so inconsistant this year as well reminded me of Tommy bowdens oline.
Now i do lay some of the blame on DJ i think he was just majorly inconsistant.
Cade showed flashes but i think it was more of streeter couldnt get a game flow he liked when he was getting blitzed on about every play.
Since when has clemson ever had problems in the redzone in the last 10 years. Only the recent 2 years.
I think streeter tried to hard to get DJ ready it hurt Cades progress.

Maybe Cade wasn't one of the very few HS QB's that are ready to contribute at the level needed for an Elite P5 school in their freshman campaigns no matter how much good coaching they get and how many live bullets they face.
People act like Cade was an in his prime Drew Brees being sabotaged by stupid coaches. It blows my mind how so many people can think that. I realize that's an exaggeration by you get my drift.
Cade reminds me more of Fran Tarkenton than Brees btw.

That contradicts what DJs uncle had said on Twitter about DJ not progressing enough under Streeter. Maybe he did progress as much as was possible, but I guess the tale will be told at Oregon State this year.
