Back in the day when I was not a volume drinker was into Scotch. Some of the best "blended" is better than many single malts.

My first adventure into it was White Horse, then Ballentine's. 17 year old Ballentine's was at the PX cheap overseas.

It’s hard to find good buttermilk these days. Most of it is made from skim milk and is only good to use for making biscuits, not great for drinking. Ingles sells a half gallon in the Sealtest label that is a whole milk buttermilk and is very good for drinking or pouring over cornbread. It has an orange cap and label. The Sealtest buttermilk with a green cap and label is made from skim milk and is for making biscuits. I worked in the dairy industry most of my career and making good buttermilk is as much art an and experience as it is science. Since it uses live bacteria cultures, every batch is a little different.
My Dad had a cow that provided milk for our family during my high school years. He raised angus cows before that but got the Jersey/Guernsey mix to milk when he got too old to deal with the 20-25 head of Angus cows he had prior to that. The fresh milk and cream was the best. We made butter from the cream but didn’t make buttermilk. Mom would buy buttermilk to use in biscuits and she would drink it and put it over cornbread in a cup. I didn’t develop a taste for it until I was working in the industry and making it myself. It is an acquired taste.

and slice 'em up into little chunks.
You put them on the left side of one of those 9x17 pyrex dishes.

You take a wad of spinach and put it in the middle.
You put one of those hunks of Boursin Gornay cheese on top of it.

You put a container of those little cherry tomatoes to the right of that.

You bake it on 400' for about 30 minutes.

You take it out, mix it all together, and pour it over some penne pasta,
and you got a party.

I doubted my wife when she left for pickleball and sent me the recipe for that tonight. I won't doubt her again.
