High tide was under many oceanfront buildings at the east end of the island. Cost us a small fortune in assessments for sandbags. Mebbe ~$15K total per unit in our complex of 86 total units.

If the planet was really in danger from global cooling, I mean, global warming, I mean, “climate change” or whatever the new scare tactic is… we would be pumping all of our money into colonizing the moon and Mars. But we’re leaving that up to two guys. Makes no sense.

Imagine the entire planet with the standard of living we have in the USA.
Not sustainable, but everyone wants it.
Something big will have to give at some point in the next 2, 3, 4 generations. Could be cold fusion and free electricity or 2 billion people dying in a pandemic.
