Hey all. Question regarding next 3 games.

I feel now more than ever that due to the last 3 games being against weak teams in Cuse, Wake, and the worst SC team in many many years, style points will matter to stay ranked #1. First off, I don't want to meet up with Bama in the first round of playoffs should we make the playoffs. I feel confident about the 3 games, but the game against UNC we will need to bring our A game and win the turnover battle.
I know I brought up margin of victory earlier in the year and I was told that I was wrong, and that if we won everything would take care of itself. So far, so true. However, if we win games against Wake and Syracuse by say 14-17 points or less I fear we could fall from the #1 spot. I don't want our guys hurt, but I think we need to open up the plays and get on top early. I think we need to beat Syracuse by a score of something like 48-14, and beat Wake by a score of around 56-10 (home game).
The SC game is a different animal in itself. The fans, players, and staff know that their season is down the drain. They will want nothing more than to ruin our playoff hopes by beating us, even if only by 1 point. They will throw everything including the kitchen sink at us in hopes of a win. One of my fears is that a player will take a cheap shot at someone, specifically Watson. Our OL needs to block the best they have all year and give Watson time to desect their defense. I don't think they have the talent to beat us, but if we go in and have 4 or 5 turnovers anything is possible. I think we need to win this game by about the same score as last year. If we could blank them like we did Miami that would be nice as well coming out with a score of like 31-0.
The committee will watch how we play and hopefully win the next 3 weeks. I would love to build early leads that are big enough to pull Watson and Gallman by the middle of the 3rd quarter. I would especially like to see Watson get some rest the week before the ACCCG. The matchup against UNC is another story for another day. They will not be an easy out. Matter of fact, if they had not packaged the game with a big red bow to SC, we may he looking at about a #12 team.
Thoughts?

Your right. We need to focus. One game at a time. Bring home some trophies to the Oculus.

Our biggest help will be if FSU wins out and Notre Dame wins out (including a win over Stanford).
Obviously if we only beat Cuse, WF, and SCar by 7 or less, it will hurt us. Bottom line on those games is: how long did we have control of the game?

FSU winning out would be nice, but I don't want any scenario where we might face Notre Dame again. It's tough to beat a team twice.

I think if we win huge - say 50's to teens ( at least ) - in each of the next 3 then that will help us stave off the Alerbama hump fest that is going on.

I wouldn't worry about the S.Car team taking cheap shots tbh. That would require them to be passionate and to have pride in their team and to care about the outcome. You can see it on the S.car players faces, they don't care. I bet that they come out flat and ready for their hellish season to be over. Now if they hang around until late in the 3rd due to mistakes by Clemson they might gain some confidence and keep it competitive.

Also of the 3 games left Syracuse is the team that gets up most for big games at home. Bottom line is that Clemson is vastly superior in talent and depth than any team it will play until the CFP.
