Herschel Walker's words
Jul 26, 2021, 12:22 PM
|
|
So proud of Walker's words yesterday about those USA Olympians who wouldn't stand for the Anthem. I wish I had the choice of telling them where to go.
“People think I’m very harsh when I say this,” Walker told Fox News in an exclusive Friday interview. “This is the United States of America, and if people don’t like the rules here — and there’s no doubt we can make some things better — but if people don’t like the rules here, why are you here?”
He then questioned whether the Olympics is “the right place” for Americans to protest their country considering the presence of athletes from other countries “who would love to represent the United States of America” if given the chance.
Walker participated in the 1992 Olympics and called the experience “one of the proudest moments” of his life, “coming from South Georgia and representing the United States.”
“When I started seeing the United States flag and started seeing the people, the uniform, all my teammates from all different sports coming into that stadium — it almost brought a tear to my eye when I started thinking of where I grew up as a boy in my little hometown, and now having the chance to represent the United States of America,” Walker said. “I couldn’t have been more proud of anything.”
Olympian Gwen Berry is the most notable name who turned away from the American flag during the national anthem at U.S. Olympic trials last month.
AD “All of my brothers and sisters were White, but I was [more proud] than anything. I would’ve died for that group over in France if I had to,” Walker said of the USA bobsled team. “[They were] my family. … I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I grew up in South Georgia — never, never could have dreamed of anything like that.
Walker believes leaders within the sports industry need to speak up and encourage U.S. athletes to send the right message.
“It’s very sad to me because any other country… I can promise you… they would not be representing that country,” he said. “I totally disagree with it, but they have the right to do it, even though I think it’s wrong. We have to have leaders that… are going to stand up and say the right thing. You can feel a certain way and I think that’s great, but this is the United States Olympics. … I’m not sure that’s the time or place.”

What rules is he talking about? There is always change. He sounds pretty stupid. Thought he was smarter than that.

He got it wrong about rules. But he’s using that as a euphemism to say traditions and the way things should be. And yes things are always changing, but if you think it’s acceptable to represent your country while ######## on your country there’s something wrong with you. The fact that people of color are competing for America in the Olympics is evidence America is not racist.
America is the least racist country in the world and anyone that has traveled abroad for any amount of time will tell you that. The people moving here, the people of color, moving here every day from every corner of the globe will also tell you that.
If America is so racist how did Barack Obama become president? How did Oprah Winfrey become a billionaire when her biggest supporters are middle-class white conservative housewives?
Liberals are stupid! You live in some alternate universe.

Dude, you got some serious anger issues, plus you spend way too much time on spreading lies on racial issues of today. Advice, go back and read your history books and get some professional help. It's OK not to be OK.

I have always liked Herschel. He just sounds kind of dumb. Rules? Some rules are meant to be broken. I respect his discipline though. Another thing, that guys is probably almost 60 and looks like he can still play.

none the less, it is a moral conundrum for some Clemson fans, and those are fun. Do we blindly listen to HW, knowing full well that he took that Camaro, and make excuses for him now that he playing politics? I'm curious to see if anyone bites.

Speaking of moral conundrum, it's as equally entertaining watching and reading the tortured defense of Deshaun Watson.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Watson has not been arrested nor accused of an actual crime. He didn’t rape anyone or molest anyone. He’s definitely guilty of being stupid and having an ego that got out-of-control, his celebrity went to his head, but what he did was not raped or molested Asian. It does look like he might have sexually harassed some women, but will never know to what degree or how much. And let’s be honest, you can look at some women the wrong way today and get yelled at for harassment. I have seen women file harassment charges working on an assembly line around a bunch of men because they cursed too much and the women didn’t like it. So this is a very gray area. That’s why he is guilty of being stupid for putting himself in these compromising positions so he can jerk off getting off on his own celebrity.
The NFL and the police I have not taken any action against him. And both have investigated this. If there was anything other than some generic harassment both would’ve taken action by now. So Italian likely he did anything criminal. That’s why these women aren’t going to the police. They want money. It’s a civil suit.

He comes from a dirt poor family and in an ABC special during the Clemson Georgia game one year, at halftime, Jim Lampley, a total tool and ###### bag, did a story on how wonderful Walker was and it had him driving up to a 7-Eleven in a brand new Trans Am. So you tell me, how does a kid from a big dirt poor family in Georgia afford a brand new Trans Am?
And trust me it pains me to support anything this far left loon is saying, but he ain’t lying.

I have no idea how he acquired a car or anything else. Neither do you. Because I don't know I won't speculate that he did something wrong.
