Notre Dame can only be 5 at best.
4 conference champs get bye…
5th rated conference champ will likely be 12 seed..particularly if it is Clemson.

My guess is

1- Oregon
2- Texas (with win)
3- Boise
4-Big 12 champ
5- Notre Dame
6- Penn State
7- UGA
8- Ohio St
9-Tennessee
10- SMU
11- Indiana
12-Clemson

Not sure how much the committee will move around to avoid first round rematches, etc.

In that scenario, I could see Clemson moving up to 10 and SMU dropping

Depends on the whole ‘body of work’ thing….
and how much they drop conference championship game losers…not sure how they’ll treat Penn St or UGA if they lose…do they move them below Ohio State or Tennessee? Or do they basically stay pretty close to where they already are?

It looks like you don’t understand the criteria. The top 4 spots are reserved for the top 4 conference champs. The 5th ranked champion gets in based on their ranking. Since we’re #17 we’ll likely be the lowest ranked team in the playoff.

Well the new AP and coaches poll on Sunday will see how CU is ranked if there is one.

Now I believe CU jumps BIG 12 winner by beating the 8th ranked team. So CU is 4th. SEC only gets 3.

SEC 3 or 4
BIG 10 4
ACC 1 or 2
MW 1 BSU
ND
? 1
