How did she get so wealthy? I don't know her story. Her purse alone cost close to 5k. What's her deal.

The governor and head of homeland security also pay over 100k 200k, respectively. And then there is the insider trading.

I read it wrong. It breaks out the funds in her Roth. Her husband owns an insurance agency in a small town (pop 470) in a small county (pop 6600), with income of over $1.1 million from the agency. It seems like he could have afforded a better plastic surgeon.

$1.1 million seems like a lot for an insurance agent in a small county. Especially if he owns the agency and has all sorts of legal ways to reduce the reportable income. However, that could be a good gig to launder money for the meth labs in the Dakotas.

The Dakotas do not launder money for meth dealers. At least that's not their primary gig. They're far more upscale than that, thank you.
I live in South Dakota now and I can tell you a couple of things. For starters, there's over 60 firms chartered right here in Sioux Falls where I live that cater to international clients, leveraging the state's plum trust laws. SDTC - South Dakota Trust Company - serves over 120 billionaire and 430 centimillionaire (I didn't know that was a term until I looked it up!) client families worldwide, not bad at all for a town of 200K that all told is maybe a tenth the size of Upstate South Carolina and not even a twentieth of Atlanta or Charlotte.
Curiously and on a completely unrelated subject, there seem to be video-game gambling parlors on every other street corner here in Sioux Falls that are all cash in/cash out and leave very little in the way of a paper trail where the cash came from and where it went. Which is fairly wild because you rarely seem to see anyone in them. It's a mystery. But put your suspicious mind at ease, these things aren't even slightly fishy and are all totally legit.

I had no idea. I remembered the big meth issues a few years ago. The IRS was investigating dirty Russian money in SD, but I'm sure that investigation has been shut down now.

A dirty lawyer I know would run his mouth when he drank too much, which was all the time. He claimed cash-only dive bars as the best way to launder money, outside of real estate. He bought into one, but it's shut down now.

I am also curious how Senile Joe got so wealthy. His 52 years in office on his "government" salary sure did him well. And Bernie is not doing bad as he rails against "the oligarchy". That seems to reward him rather handsomely.
