Amari Rodgers says Kelly Bryant has the support of his teammates
Kelly Bryant officially has the support of his teammates. Following Monday’s release of the 2018 depth chart, quarterback Kelly Bryant was the talk of the press conference held in Clemson’s indoor practice facility and sophomore wide receiver Amari Rodgers took a minute to discuss the rally behind Bryant from his teammates. Here is what I think and what I feel. Trevor Lawrence came to Clemson as the highest sought after QB recruit in the nation/ the country, and Tiger Nation were the lucky one to see Trevor commit and sign to play FB at Clemson. Coming to Clemson as highly ranked as he was/is, we all want to see him in action as soon as possible But, there was KB starting in the position that TL come to Clemson to play, and most of Tiger Nation are wanting to see the best QB recruit in the country play now. And most feel that way bc of the disappointing end of our past season with KB as the QB. The real facts are that 99% of us hasn't had the privilege of attending or seeing any of the off season work outs, nor have we had the privilege of attending or seeing any of this fall camp practices or position competitions, so we really don't know what kind of improvement KB has made if any at all, and the same goes for TL or any other player that will be named the starters to start this season. What we have heard is that KB has made the necessary improvement to retain his position that he had last season as our starting QB.
Now we have a fan base that still has a nasty taste in their mouth bc of the memory of how our last game against Bama ended, and what they saw of KB in the spring game. Since the Bama beat down, and the spring practice awful performance of KB's outings in both, no one has seen the off season work outs, and only a selected few fans have seen a fall camp work out that helps the coaches in deciding who will start off our season. Many don't believe that KB deserves a chance to retain the QB position, and that is mostly bc of the hype of TL coming in as the best QB recruit in the country. No body wants to see TL play more than I do, maybe the same but surely not more. With all that said, I also do believe that KB rightfully deserves a chance to start this season off as our QB. He took the team that we love so much to a 12-2 season, and mauling Miami in the ACC championship game.
KB will start this season as our starting QB, that's the final answer bc that is what Dabo has said that's the way it's going to be, and as our HC he calls all the shots... With Dabo as our HC, Clemson is considered to be one of the top 5 Elite FB programs in the entire country, and this is the first time that Clemson FB has ever been given this type of respect of this magnitude going all the way back to the beginning of the history of the Clemson FB program starting in 1896. Right or wrong, my loyalty stands with Dabo and the decisions he makes for our FB program bc it is at it's best right now than it has ever been through out our FB program History. I will say it again, I wanted Trevor Lawrence to be our starting QB, but Dabo I do trust for what ever his reason's bc our FB program has never been better. Go Dabo, Go KB, beat Furman!!! Remember this Guys, Dabo will never keep the best at the back or just behind him, he will bring them up beside him, he always has!!!

What on earth would lead you to post such a crazy idea. KB has only one more year. Don’t you think TL and Brice take a long term view? Besides he said that they were behind all the quarterbacks.

good job to the fan base

that has made this distraction real! There is noone on this or any board that knows ANYTHING about the QB choice and what's best. You just do what the internet does; say stupid $hit over and over!
Now it's a real distraction to the team and, yes, there will be HUGE blowback the first time KB throws a pick or has an incomplete pass! The blowback will be morons who somehow think they know something about football and what's best for this team. Be assured, the lowest ranked player on our team knows 1000 times more than you do about the best QB for the job.
Take that knowledge and #### about the QB situation.
Thanks and God Bless America

media to beat a dead horse for internet hits. We just brought in the #1 player in the nation who happens to play QB. There isn't a fan base in America who wouldn't make QB a topic of conversation under the circumstances. Your ire is misdirected.
It's worth wondering if you read the whole piece or just the headline.

I'm glad we need guys like you to let eveyone know they are too stupid to form an opinion on things, take guesses and put out thoughts on a public media forum about football.
Guess we should just leave it up to only the professionals.....who hoped Dabo didn't get the job as HC and wrote an entire commentary on it, talking about he didn't think the fans would give it a chance. Guess he should never post here again, never write here again, never cover another story again...all because he had an opinion and voiced it?? Right??
https://www.tigernet.com/story/football/Commentary-Dabo-Not-Right-Fit-for-Tigers-7601
"But here's the kicker - I hope he doesn't get the job. I hope Terry Don, quickly, hires a known coach from outside the program, and installs him. Why? because Dabo Swinney, as the head coach past South Carolina or the bowl game, would be in an impossible situation. he would be up the proverbial tributary without a physical means of transportation (up the creek without a paddle for any Carolina fans reading this). Why? because no matter how well he does next season, no matter how much Clemson progresses in becoming a more physical, agressive team, anything short of winning the ACC Championship and getting to a BCS bowl game, will be a major disappointment and will leave the dysfunctional Clemson fanbase howling for his head..." - David Hood, Senior Writer - TigerNet
Quite sure he could back up his thoughts on that till today, but yet say that Dabo proved it wrong in how he did it, how he got the fans behind him...and I'm quite sure if Kelly eases everyone's concerns and shows that improvement, you won't see many with an issue later, either. But until they play some games, no one really knows if he's improved in game play. Improved in non-live practices doedn't mean you are improved in game play.

Literally, does anyone else not read:
"I'm happy for him. I'm happy for this whole team. We've all been behind all of these quarterbacks as they've been going through this competition. We're confident in whoever steps out there to take care of business."
Then the headline is about Bryant?? Sounds like he's saying all and any of them have the teammates support, so why did this need to be directed like it's only about Bryant?

Care to post the link to that? I'd love t see it.
I've never once said we can't win with him....I've maintained the entire time, though you don't read too well, that he has to improve his passing from last year to hold Trevor off.
I do believe I said SEVERAL times that HE COULD PLAY WELL and still lose the job if Trevor gets more experience and ends up looking better. I have said multiple times that I thought Kelly would start Game 1, have linked to that, unlike you, SEVERAL times. What I haven't done is treat him like he's invincible and can't be replaced like you do. Sorry if it hurts your feelings that much...maybe see a shrink about that.

Any good teammate is going to support the starting QB ( just as any good fan should ). He will also support whoever else runs out on the field with them - later in the game or next week or whenever they take the field. It’s what team players do. One sure fire way to get yourself benched on any team is to fail to support your fellow players and/or openly criticize coaches’ decisions.

Until he stumbles when the the game is in Jeopardy.....IF TL comes in then and takes control of the game, if will be tough for Kelly to get the #1 spot back. But until then, it is his to lose!
MHO--TL will be the starter by the CFP, with several W's under his belt
Everyone has to agree, it will be awesome watching it unfold!

For those of us who have been on the grid iron and sweat blood and tears ?? trough tha dog days of summer before the kickoff & those who never stepped outside other than attending a Saturday game day function please understand a coach or coaches are successful through the output of their recruits & with that being said don’t undermine a decision but accept & be thankful we as tigers ?? shouldn’t panic if something unthinkable happened to our signal caller Because we have built a program base on achieving your goals & not just having potential but doing something with it but more importantly for everyone needs to be thankful that we have guys that waited for an opportunity & fought hard to earn it as a senior & finish school... not just 1 but multiple young men not boys ... a new trend is erupting & I hope to see it continue am so thankful for the job our coaches are putting in and never getting too excited about where we are now because each new year is not last years success!!!
