Looking for Vacation Suggestions

And I am not talking about an all-expense paid trip to Jamaica.

Last year I took my Clemson student daughter to Hilton Head Island and it was great. Looking for something "affordable" this year, if you get my drift. All of my disposable income is going to tuition, so I need to economize as The Kinks would say, I am on a low budget. Suggestions please, TNet braintrust.

I will look into the cruise idea for sure - hate flying mostly due to TSA, so driving to Charleston is attractive.

river cruise is the ticket .I've been on several and the cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam is my favorite. Milo Moon with vacations to go is my agent. He'll take good care of you.
Viking is the cruise line. US river cruises were disappointing

If you can muster airfare Yellowstone is my favorite place in the whole world. Cheap to get into the park and days worth of entertainment. Wildlife as well as the volcanic activity is mesmerizing. My fiancé and I got engaged in the park in Feb of last year. Planning on going back to be married there in May. Get the flight and hotel out of the way and it will be a trip I promise you wont forget.

We took a family tour of Ireland back before my daughter was born and I loved it! Great countryside and villages, pubs, etc. People were super-friendly!

Santee at Paulies Island, travel down 301 south through a small little town called Summerton, and right before you start go across the Santee bridge, make a left turn, signs will lead you right to Paulies Island. I don't know about now, but they use to rent cabins, and 14 foot fishing boots with motors...

I haven't been there in a while, but the prices for a place right on Santee use to be very reasonable, and people from all around the country use to vacation there. You can even hire fishing guides that will put you on the fish like crappie, brim, bass, or the famous Rock fish that grow very big...

Lots of things to do and see in the country. On a budget travel to Jonesborough Tennessee. This is the oldest town in Tennessee. Visit Tennessee Hills Distillery. They have some type of festival going on every weekend in the summer. Just a thought.

West Virginia has some great under the radar vacation opportunities. Go white water rafting in the New River Gorge. They have cabins and restaurants nearby. Just a little north on Highway 19 is Summersville Lake. It is a beautiful lake with high cliffs and clean water. Great family fun.

Rent a house on Saint Helena Island, and then go to hunting Island State Park to go to the beach. You can grill right there on the beach, and everything you need as far as groceries is on lady Island. Did with this with the extended family a couple times because they’re very budget conscious, and we all had a great time. Plenty of docks for fishing and crabbing around the area.
