I'm wondering if he "really wanted to come to Clemson" but then we changed OL coach. It indicates Thomas Austin as primary recruiter.
Could it be his heart just was not into Illinois, and he is coming to Clemson where despite Coach Austin not being here; "he will still be coached by a quality OL coach"! And be in the atmosphere he wants to be in on top.

All that based off it is appearing like it came down to Illinois and Clemson.

He has already stated that Illinois is too far from home, he is from Michigan. Bank on him going to a Michigan school.

You’re 100% correct he’s saying he wants to move closer to home and he only lasted 4 months in Illinois. He’s not moving to SC to spend the next 4 years.

Central Michigan is in Mt. Pleasant (where he is from). If he wants to be near home, that would be the place to go... I am guessing he will end up at Michigan State. They need a lot of help over in Lansing so he would probably start right away, he'd probably get some NIL money and it's only an hour or so from home. Doubt he wants to come here unless he likes warmer weather...
