I think he made a strong case yesterday that he should see the field. Thoughts??

We need a shifty runner that is quick. Mafah is great when he’s got a hole, but having a compliment would be nice. Remember Thunder and Lightning?

Oh, you mean that guy that no one said we needed back this year? (I now you are talking about the other "Thunder and Lightning" but I had to throw that in there.

Seriously why did Shipley get so much hate from his own fan base? Especially since he carried Clemsons offense and covered up alot of poor coaching.
But will say I think the thunder and lightning he's referring to is JD and CJ

Before the FSU game one year when JD and CJ were Thunder and Lightening, a couple of FSU fans next to us were packing up their tailgate to head to the stadium before the game. The wife asked her husband if it was going to rain so she'd know if she needed to carry her rain gear. Before he could answer, I told her no rain, just a lot of Thunder and Lightening. Not having a clue what i was referring to, she asked her husband, really? He just chuckled and shook his head no.

I think I acknowledged the other T&L in my post. I believe some of the hate toward Shipley came out of some of his immaturity that he displayed from time to time. Also heard he was a bit of a disrupter in the RB room but I have no idea if that was true or not.

Doubtful. A couple plays at the most.

I think the staff will feel very comfortable using him to give Mafah a breather. Maybe even a play or two with both in the backfield, depending on field position.

Mafah seems like he has gotten slower. I would start Haynes. Clemson needs a big play threat at RB.

Mafah’s running slower right now because he fears contact on the shoulder at full speed. Hopefully he can take a pregame shot to help him run hard at least for the first half.

Doubt he plays much. One of the big reasons Mafah played so much in the Pitt game is he’s the only back the staff trusts to pass protect.

Maybe something on the edges to take advantage of his speed.
Can he catch the ball ?
That would be something sneaky maybe Riley can put in.

Thought we would have seen him in the Pitt game for a few carries. Mafah was so gassed and slow in that game and whiffed on more than 1 pass blocking attempt so the the argumnent that they dont trust him anyone else in pass blocking doesnt fly. Mafah just looks so slow right now and does not try and run over anyone anymore. The ##### know this and will try and knock him out early. It pains me to say it but they are very fast, and physical on defense. Kind of reminds me of Swearinger knocking Ellington down and towering over him and flexing years ago. I am afaid that sellers is going run over , around , and threw our defense and nothing i have seen all year make me think we can or will stop it. just dont have the same studs we used to have to dominate the #####.
