Havent played at Bobby-Dodd since that obliteration during COVID

So, they haven’t faced Clemson at home expecting a shot to win since probably 2014. When they did beat Clemson in Atlanta. When Deshaun went down and Cole Stoudt ruined the game (redeemed himself against Oklahoma).
Bringing it up because it feels like another one of the ACC programs has a chance to put another nail in the Clemson narrative.
GT’s recruiting has gained serious momentum as they have taken commits away from us. They have gained tremendous ground that I didn’t think they would until Dabo was long gone. Not that they don’t still have to prove themselves.
This is a great opportunity for Dabo, and honestly this program, to make a statement. Clemson needs a statement win against at least a decent team. Georgia Tech is a good team and could be in contention for the ACC Championship. So let’s do it.

One of the most exciting road games I’ve ever attended was the 2001 game in Atlanta when Woody ran wild and the Tigers won a thriller in overtime.
George O’Leary was the coach for GT and George Godsey was the QB. I believe O’Leary accepted the Notre Dame job the next season only to be fired a week or so after accepting the job.

Oleary's resume inaccuracy got him. I forget the specifics but I remember Leno made a joke about it calling him O'really.

GT has good OL and DL play with Brent Key, so I know Dabo will have them ready.

GT is the only ACC rivalry I would miss if we left the ACC assuming FSU goes with us. I really would not miss or could care less about playing any of the others.

Yeah
Im tired of NC State
Im tired of Dave Doreon
Im tired of them latching onto Clemson for some hope of saving their reputation like South Carolina always did with Alabama

I was at the 2014 game and man was that a frustrating. We kept shooting ourselves in the foot and I remember thinking DeAndre Smelter was going to be a stud in the NFL which didn't happen. Going Saturday hoping for better results.

Smelter was a WR, and very likely would have had a nice NFL career if he didn't get his knee destroyed by a georgia player on a borderline dirty play. He caught a ball across the middle and got tackled and was casually getting up, but the ref didn't blow the whistle so the georgia defender wrenched him down again with his leg getting twisted up under him. Tore his knee up pretty good, but still got drafted in the second round and got a shot at the NFL but just wasn't the same afterwards. Fun fact: he's now a "quality control assistant coach" working with our WRs. It's cool seeing him on the sidelines. But you're right about our RBs. Between Jon Dwyer and Jordan Mason none of our RBs really did anything in the NFL. I thought KirVonte Benson had a chance to do something but he got injured in Paul Johnson's last year and then went into the portal instead of playing for Geoff Collins and was never heard from again.

Big time. Brent Key is legit. Couldn’t be happier for the guy - building a program back up.
This will be a good game to test and see what our team is made of.
I’m gonna go in with open hands.
