Have to feel like Notre Dame to

BIG is a done deal, junt dotting the I and crossing Ts. I'm sure they are hammering out buyout, the payout, the division they will be in and all other wishes they have. If this were not the case, we would have heard some sort of, "we're fully committed to the ACC" or "we intend to remain independent" statement, or press release. Therefore, any projecting should be with the thought that ND joining the ACC is not happening. I am so glad they will never be able to say that they popped into the ACC football conference championship and won the title the only year they competed. Nor do we have to hear that from anyone else.

Are they bound by the GOR contract? If they are, does this free us up to leave?

Interestingly enough they are. All their teams minus football are members of the ACC. One would assume that they will take all the other teams with them. Therefore they would have to break the GOR to do it or leave the rest of the teams in the acc, which I don’t see happening.

My understanding is that ND’s contract with the ACC says that should they decide to join a conference for football, it has to be the ACC.

Since none of us know what is happening in the ACC office, we are in the dark. I just hope Phillips and the ACC leaders are in the light and are talking with Big12 or Pac teams to join. If the Big10 and Big12 beat the ACC to the table, we are in big trouble. Strike while the iron is hot.
