Have I missed Dabo or DJ ... or anyone in the AD quoted on

the alleged attempt to injure DJs hand.
I’m not questioning that it happened ... I’m sure it did .... something certainly triggered Ngata’s extremely ill-timed outburst.
But, has it been directly discussed by Clemson players or coaches with the press?
I guess what I’m saying is “link?”

Almost as bad as the Syracuse player's attempt to injure DJ, one of the announcers felt the need to state something similar to, Ngata has been emotional for the entire game and it finally resulted in a penalty.
Keep in mind that Clemson had run less than 10 offensive plays at that point in the game.
I had not noticed Ngata doing anything out of the ordinary prior to that play on the game broadcast.
Prior to the penalty Saturday, I have not noticed Ngata being the type of guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve and gets into altercations with players from the opposing teams whether it be flagged or not.
I'm sure the Syracuse announcer didn't have any bias early in the game though that could have affected his ability to rationally comment on big plays or penalties as the game moved on.

A couple ‘tells’ I observed - besides Ngata’s obvious grab and ###### of tge offending player/or Syracuse player keeping DJU from getting up. First, as DJ is heading back to the huddle, he is shaking and looking at his hand in a manner similar to how I reacted those several times I closed a car door on my finger/thumb/hand (oh yeah, some of us are slow learners, careless and just clumsy). The second tell is that instead of getting in his face and ‘coaching him up’ for losing his cool and costing the team 15 yards, Dabo says/does nothing to Ngata, but turns his attention back to the game. And of course, look at DJ’s hand during his post game interview.
Was it intentional, well, the several players involved probably know, but just as our guys are well coached to say and use ‘coach speak’ when questioned or interviewed; this incident will be handled internally, like most others have been.
I doubt we’ll ever hear anything official/public.

Was it intentional???

Go back and watch. The play is OVER and DJ is laying on the ground when Ngata makes his penalized move. Players weren't still flying around the play; it was a big pile on the ground... similar to one in which Christian Wilkins would make a joy-grab. Wilkin's hyjinx are CLEARLY an attempt to annoy and distract his opponent, and he should probably get flagged for it. What the 'cuse player did was an attempt to injure his opponent, and he should have been penalized/ejected IMMEDIATELY. Instead, our WR gets a personal foul penalty for trying to protect his QB.
For any 'cuse idiots (or coot idiots, or bulldawg idiots) who think the refs gave the game to Clemson, shut up. If anything the refs helped keep them in the game until the holding got so egregious that their jobs were on the line if they didn't start calling it on the 'cuse OL.

I replayed it five or six times, frame by frame. There were no televised ‘replays’, so I only had the one angle (looking in from our sideline). I could never pick out exactly who the offending player was - but think it was #23. Although that wasn’t the player Ngata pulled away. There was an official coming in, but it appears he did not have the viewing angle Ngata had.
I honestly didn’t see any Syracuse player that was on his feet or in a position to step (or ‘stomp’) on DJ’s hand. But there was three or four tacklers on the play, and DJ went down under at least three guys. I would sure love to hear DJ and Ngata tell the whole story. But then again, what would it really accomplish for us the fans?
I’m okay with Dabo and the team knowing, and better still, using it to their advantage or benefit in motivation, etc., going forward.

Amen on your analogy about the holding by the 'Cuse OL. It was very very obvious on virtually every passing play they started.

One correction: Dabo tore into Ngata after the penalty, like he does. You might not have seen it on TV, but you sure could see it if you were there.

Yeah he did. And rightfully so. Retaliation like that is dumb. It doesn't hurt the other guy one bit and just gets you a potentially drive killing penalty. Far better to note the guys number and make sure that the rest of the team knows about what happened so that maybe someone(s) can give some real payback and not get the flag.

Years ago, an NC State player spit on Leroy Hill during the game. Leroy did nothing during the game, but after the game, he beat the he'll out of the guy during the gathering at the paw. I would advise that strategy.
