#1 Defense but...
Dec 30, 2014, 9:02 AM

NO BUTS! Stop talking after you say Clemson is #1 Defense. Just shut your daggum mouth. After opening @ UGA primetime vs best back in the country (give them credit) Clemson's D shut everyone down this year. So why do I keep hearing this:
But they play in the ACC But they didn't stop Gurley But [insert team name here] is one dimensional But J Winston isn't playing But Bobby Boucher (BOO-shay) is hurt But Oklahoma isn't motivated? REALLY?
Wish this would STOP!
Coot walked into work today and said "Did Oklahoma even show up" My reply..."YES they were the team in white that didn't score until the middle of the 4th quarter. You know the team favored to win, the one with the greatest RB and QB? The team Clemson didn't have a chance to beat yesterday. You Jack Wagon!"
Clemson has the best defense in college football, deal with it.

Its the life of social media! Its like if your team isn't there, you're required to be negative and hate on the one that is....especially if its your rival. No need to even read or worry about it if you know what the real deal is.

They ARE the best period. Last night should have driven that point home...but you can't forget that ESecPN has an agenda.

#1 defense got you a 10 - 3 year. Impressive beatdown of OK for sure. But that is a once in a decade defense. Fortunately for Carolina it was too.

That got held to their lowest offensive output against that defense...you know, the record setting one for the program?
How many times were the gamecocks ranked the #1 defense in the past few years?
Don't cry Thorny, I doubt we'll see a Gamecock-like dropoff next year

We lost Martavis Bryant and Sammy Watkins last year and all we heard coming out of the same corner where you reside is how much our receivers will take a step back. All we did was find a new Freshman star and move an up-and-coming one into the void and voila - two new stars! We understand the sentiment but the same rules don't apply at Clemson versus South Carolina. They never have. South Carolina has NEVER had any sustained success on the gridiron. These past five years were nothing more a blip on a one-hundred year timeline of failure. Now South Carolina's program is in a downward spiral from the sidelines to recruiting and is seemingly headed right back where it's always been: at the bottom. Clemson, on the other hand, is trending, gaining momentum and RELOADING. Please stop trying to compare us to y'all. There is none!

I know most coots are hoping our D tanks next year like theirs did in ONE season, but I can tell you know that won't be the case. Sure it'll fall off some, its only natural losing that much talent. But we have a lot of good young talent waiting in the wings and a REAL D.C., I can promise you we won't be a 100th ranked D like they did next year. Still a top 25-30 more than likely, which will be good enough with all the fire power coming back on O and what should be a better O-line.
