Gruden wants what Clemson has

May 7, 2019, 12:27 AM

He has seen first hand the type of culture Dabo has created, with the type of athletes he created and the atmosphere surrounding the program. He surely didn’t have to go back to coaching; if he’s gonna coach millionaires he rather coach millionaires with a good attitude and work ethic. Thus the push to go after Ferrell so early and also to go after Mullen and Renfrow.

I recall seeing the clip of him calling Ferrell and telling him he needs that leadership, and similar to the other recruits.

Just goes to show what culture Dabo has created isn’t lost on Gruden, and surely others.

We have a lot to be proud of with our program.

I don't think that Clemson-envy is limited to the Raiders.

There are elements Dabo has that Gruden doesn't,

But Gruden does have a personality, which is certainly more than can be said about a lot of coaches, college or pro. Yes, it's a biz, but when you can create an environment where as an employee you can say, 'They pay me to do this?', you have something sustainable. For sure, the Raiders can use an image makeover.

TBH I'm kind of surprised

May 7, 2019, 6:57 AM

because Gruden doesn't strike me as the type of coach who's interested in character first.

Maybe not, but he is a smart man and would like some of that low maintenance top success, too.

Funny all that Tennessee buzz about hiring Gruden away to from the microphone to the Smokeys. Then seeing him gush over Clemson at his next real head coaching stop. Goid stuff.

It's starting to become obvious to MOST NFL coaches. The poor team that picked Rashaun Gary over our guys is still oblivious to what's happening at CLEMSON. And that's no slight on Gary's ability, because he is a fine player.

Gruden's been talking Clemson since MNF Days

How ironic is it that it is the Raiders, the perennial

May 7, 2019, 11:18 AM

Bad Boys of the NFL, who are among the first to try and upgrade the image of the league. A change is sorely needed, what with the self entitled Odell Beckhams, Antonio Browns and Le'veon Bells of the world getting all the press.
