Bryar Hawkins is struggling at the plate today. 0-4 with for strikeouts. Hopefully tomorrow he comes out strong. Can’t afford that out of our 3 hole. I think he will finish up the series strong.

Make that 0 for 5 with 5 strikeouts.
We’ve struck out 16 times. It’s just something that’s never going to change under Monte Lee. His hitters never look for anything else but fastballs, and are shocked when anything else comes. It just is what it is with this coach’s hitting philosophy, and it’s always going to bite us against good teams.
The good news is we’ve found some holes and taken some walks. A couple balls hit hard. Some excellent pitching.

Yea strikeouts have been a problem. But I think monte showed some improvement in game 1. He played small ball. Bunted and had a safety squeeze. Indiana had a lot of issues with pass balls so that helped us. But we hit the ball well opposite field. We teed off the early innings on fastballs. They threw mostly breaking pitches the rest of the game and we look sluggish adjusting. I kind of feel both teams wanted that game to end. It was dragging out there at the end. I think Indiana threw over 200 pitches as a team.

Hoping he finds his groove tomorrow.
Swinging for the fences on every pitch isn’t the answer.
I noticed that our transfers and new guys are still hitting balls where they are pitched and not trying to pull everything . . . as long as Monte leaves their swing and philosophy alone they’ll have good success with us!!!
