Biden Adm would not allow this change to come up in the senate. Now at least maybe his bill can be introduced into the senate.

Indiana is his example of buying a football team?

What?
They definitely bought an incredibly good coach, but I haven't heard a bunch of stories about Indiana spending 10-20mil NIL money ok their roster like numerous other schools. Half of Indianas transfers came with Cignetti from JMU!
And his next example is Pitt? ###?
Yo Tubs, no mention of Texas A&M, Ohio State, Oregon. What about Tenn giving Nico 8mil and also just pledged to raise 20+ mil a year to finance paying players directly from the AD? How about LSU that just won a bidding war for next years #1 player over Michigan that reportedly offered 10mil? Come on.
Most of the biggest NIL offenders are right in his back yard (SEC), and he never even mentions that. But lord forbid some perennial door mats spend a little NIL money to not suck.
I don't even care what his overall goals are with this, he lost me trying to make examples out of Indiana and Pitt.

which was my point. I'm not against NIL. I do believe we need some enforceable rules regarding WHEN current players can be contacted and recruited.
Now move along please.

Let's be realistic. 31 players
13 from James Madison --where the coach came from --brought players he coached the prior year --12 three stars and 1 four star Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team D’Angelo Ponds *** 0.8700 CB 5-9 / 165 James Madison Indiana Solomon Vanhorse *** 0.8300 RB 5-8 / 183 James Madison Indiana Tyrique Tucker *** 0.8600 DL 6-0 / 295 James Madison Indiana Elijah Sarratt **** 0.9000 WR 6-2 / 207 James Madison Indiana Tyler Stephens *** 0.8700 IOL 6-5 / 306 James Madison Indiana Kaelon Black *** 0.8800 RB 5-10 / 210 James Madison Indiana Nick Kidwell *** 0.8700 IOL 6-5 / 316 James Madison Indiana Ty Son Lawton *** 0.8500 RB 5-9 / 205 James Madison Indiana James Carpenter *** 0.8800 DL 6-2 / 282 James Madison Indiana Jailin Walker *** 0.8700 LB 6-1 / 218 James Madison Indiana Aiden Fisher *** 0.8600 LB 6-1 / 227 James Madison Indiana Mikail Kamara *** 0.8500 DL 6-1 / 265 James Madison Indiana Zach Horton *** 0.8500 TE 6-4 / 249 James Madison Indiana
5 players from SBC (Sun Belt Conference) --same conference as James Madison --players he coached against the prior season Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Shawn Asbury II *** 0.8800 S 5-9 / 192 Old Dominion Indiana Jayden McDonald *** 0.8500 LB 6-0 / 227 Troy Indiana Terry Jones Jr. *** 0.8600 S 6-1 / 193 Old Dominion Indiana Derek McCormick ( N/A ) K 6-2 / 200 Louisiana-Monroe Indiana Mark Langston ( N/A ) LS 6-0 / 210 Georgia Southern Indiana
So 18 of 31 players came from the conference the coach was in the year prior
3 players from the MAC (Mid-American Conference) Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Kurtis Rourke **** 0.9000 QB 6-5 / 231 Ohio Indiana Miles Cross *** 0.8800 WR 6-1 / 195 Ohio Indiana CJ West *** 0.8900 DL 6-2 / 315 Kent State Indiana
1 player from FBS Independent Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Nahji Logan *** 0.8400 LB 6-3 / 230 Massachusetts Indiana
1 players from FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) formerly known as D1-AA Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Cedarius Doss *** 0.8500 CB 5-8 / 176 Austin Peay Indiana
1 player from NCAA Division III Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Ebon Person ** 0.7000 LB 6-3 / 228 Anderson Indiana
7 players from what would be considered average to large football schools -all are still three stars Player Stars Rating Position Ht/Wt From Team To Team Andrew Depaepe *** 0.8900 Edge 6-5 / 255 Michigan State Indiana DJ Warnell Jr. *** 0.8500 S 6-3 / 200 Arizona Indiana Trey Wedig *** 0.8600 OT 6-7 / 318 Wisconsin Indiana Myles Price *** 0.8700 WR 5-10 / 190 Texas Tech Indiana Ke'Shawn Williams *** 0.8600 WR 5-10 / 190 Wake Forest Indiana Justice Ellison *** 0.8600 RB 5-10 / 209 Wake Forest Indiana Elijah Green *** 0.8800 RB 5-11 / 210 North Carolina Indiana
7 players they likely paid, 3 players from the MAC that they could have paid. probably not paying the JMU players that wanted to follow their coach and play in a bigger conference. doubtfully paying the other SBC players from the same conference definitely not paying the subdivision players
Maybe 10-12 players getting paid out of 31 transfers. None of these players were world beaters or guys from great teams.
2 four stars 26 three stars 1 2 star 2 unranked
Indiana's recruiting classes Year 5* 4* 3* 2* 1* 0* National Rank 2024 0 1 15 0 0 1 65 2023 0 0 15 0 0 2 68 2022 0 4 17 0 0 2 25 2021 0 2 12 0 0 0 55
The success is probably more a result of good coaching/new scheme and not "buying" a team.

You are in trouble when you are depending on Tommy Tuberville to lead your cause. He has to be the dumbest person in the Senate, if not the whole country.
