Good news from Athens today.
Driving drunk at 90MPH charges were dropped today against Trevor Etienne.

Kirby and UGA have real power.
I hope the arresting officer still has a job.

This is not news in Georgia. It is the norm for UGA athletes and some of the charges have been severe.

I don't care who it is even if it was Me or a family member, if we were caught driving 90mph and drunk, we should be put in jail with at least a long enough sentence to give us time to think about all the people's lives we put at risk including our own. That type of incident should be punished no matter who you are...

He pled guilty, not all the charges were dismissed:

At least he was not going 100 m/hr. That would have demanded at least 10-15 service hours.

I wonder what Kirbs's "in-house discipline" will be...no dessert on game day?🤣🤡

He'll have to miss the first series Clemson's offense is on the field. 😉

with a clean record, everyone would get the same punishment.

Exactly. Kids make mistakes. Still deserves discipline. 12 months probation seems reasonable. He’d had 3 beers. How many have us have driven after a few beers? Especially in college. Going 90 is a little ridiculous, especially if you knew you’d had a few. Honestly if they would’ve given him a breathalyzer, he probably would’ve been right at or under the legal limit. At his weight 3 normal beers would put right at .08 depending on how much time had passed.

All that being said this is becoming an alarming trend at UGA. Kirby better real it in quick before more people die.

I am a GA resident and I see two problems with this case. Why was Trevor not given a BAC test after he agreed to take one? The second problem is the speeding. I want to know the speed limit of the spot where he was speeding. If he was going 24 miles or over the speed limit, he should have been charged as an Under 21 super speeder. In Ga, underage super speeders get their license suspended for six months.

It appears that the dawg fixer was at work again.

Athens Clarke County solicitors office cuts deals all the time. Not sure Etienne got anything special.

Underage super speeder is usually enforced in Ga. I also want to know who turned a blind eye and did not check his alcohol level. The article states that he did not refuse the test. The fact that his license is not suspended is unbelievable.

I am going to take this a step further and ask, “ How many people are going to have to die before the UGA AD cracks down and gets serious with Kirby’s handling of football players?” It is obvious that fear has not been instilled into the players to not drink and drive(speed).

It IS an election year. Im sure the sheriff and police chief got a big donation.

Proof that Travis listened to his parents but Trevor
said, I can't hear you. I can relate to Trevor because
when I left home at 17 and joined up with my Uncle Sam,
I got on the wild side all the way to 22yrs old and
settled when I married. Trevor will hopefully learn.

I would image the arresting officer is driving a new vehicle instead of losing his job.

That would encourage cops to stop more players - so nope.

Trevor ETN I believe would be much better off and possibly on his way to becoming a moral responsible man if he had followed his brother to Clemson.

Ga may have been one of the worst decisions of Trevor ETN’s young life. Sometimes these decisions we make can follow us through our entire life.

It’s possible if Kirby were to depart from UGA it may be due to him being dismissed because of another tragic event involving one his players or coaches.

How many of you remember Left Driesell who was the HC of the Maryland Terps basketball program the night of June 17,1986 when Len Bias died from a cocaine OD the night he celebrated being drafted by the Boston Celtics. Lefty passed away this past February.

It’s been 35 plus years since Len Bias passed away. Yet it seems as though some coaches and many kids did not learn anything from this tragic event.

Trevor ETN is just fortunate he or someone else was not injured or killed. And it’s true nothing has changed in Athens Ga home of the bulldog thugs!

I don't think coaches are to be blamed when a kid ~~? If a pattern develops or that behavior is encouraged, different.

I agree with you to a point. As I remember though Lefty was a lot like Kirby Smart. Not a strict disciplinarian.

Dabo has built a strong foundation and his players rarely get into trouble. Dabo created a culture opposite of most other schools that was very successful until college football self destructed. Dabo has established an environment of morality and personal success of each player.

The wrong people run the IGA football program. Kirby does what he is told.
