Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday, was recovering from the sickness so didn't leave the house.

Saturday, felt no lingering issues from being sick, fever hit Wednesday, Thursday was just feeling run down, so went and voted then a little hike at table rock. Body felt fine, lungs were mad. Rested a bit then went to a metal show at a coffee shop with a friend. His brother-in-law was playing. It was weird. Kids dance funny.

Sunday, struggled to get anything accomplished that I was trying to do with my laser.

Sat - Fished a tournament on the home lake and took 2nd out of 29 boats.

Sun - Church in the morning, worked a bit, played by the creek, dinner with friends, worked a bit more. Was a threat to the monarchy twice on https://littlebigsnake.com/.

I was hoping for some elaborate boat theft/insurance grift in which you both have to go on the run and end up falling in love. Call it, "Dropping Anchor" or something like that.

Mama paid for it

It's in my brother's possession.

Crazy, right?

McNephew fishes the high school tournaments for Wren High (usually over 100 boats). His partner wasn't being reel good and daddy told him he couldn't fish no more. So McNephew lost a partner (and his boat).

My mama felt reel bad for him and invested in a good cheap boat to sell when the tournaments are over (next year). It was a heck of a deal on a 2019 Tracker Pro 170. It isn't exactly a tournament boat, but if they keep it a year (and don't break it) she should make $2K on her investment.

McNephew goes down to Lake Russell with no experience in a jon boat, fishes by himself, and finishes 12/130. Pretty dang good.

The End.

You give your nephew full credit for finishing 12th but in my mind, the fish deserve at least 50% or more of the credit for playing along.

A board i serve on had their annual retreat at a beautiful camp near Gaston SC.

This is a strategic plan revision year so we worked on that but it’s a fun group and the food was great so it could have been worser

Weather was very nice, sharing a cabin designed for kids with 3 other snoring men wasn’t the best for sleeping but not too bad.

Friday, took the day off and spent the day trying to close out all the final details of Mom's estate stuff. Took off for the Thirsty Beaver to see three garage punk bands, Tightz from Asheville, The Country Westerns from Nashville, and The Sleeveens from Nashville. Pretty good show all in all. Very different crowd than the norm for The Beaver, but we had a blast and the bands were all good.

Saturday, went and looked at some vehicles, hung out at the music store for a while, back home to eat supper and watched a bunch of episodes of Northern Exposure. Up to season 5 now.

Sunday, grocery run then came home to burn yard debris and 25 years of old tax returns and other paper I didn't want to take to the dump. Got started around 2 and put the fire out around 6. Cooked steaks and garlic parm potatoes for supper, watched the new Walking Dead spin-off first episode. I believe a shark has been jumped...but I'll watch it anyway.

Pretty solid all in all, no complaints so I'll go 19/19 Covids.

Went to Breselton, GA for an Antiques show sattidy. Only problem there were almost no antiques, just your standard overpriced crafty/foodie junk. Waste of a perfectly good sattidy. Did hit some good Q in Commerce tho. Coooked up steak, scallops and sparagus for dinner. Twas quite good.

Sunday, worked out, cleaned the house, watched TV. Did cook up some knockwurst procured recently in Helen with some onions, butter and brown sugar sauce enhanced by a smoky porter from Yazoo in Nashville.

9.9/10 (18.81/19 on the RH Covid scale) with additions for weather and food.

Wood due a gin.

The venue was alright, but everything is so pricey. Drank a few beers in the parking lot between games. Maybe I am a degenerate, I don't care. They finally got a win, but still played down to bad competition and up to good competition. It is a work in progress.

Fri.: knocked off work 30 minutes early. Cooked breakfast burritos for dinner. Had a very basic family game night. A.

Sat.: celebrated my grandmother-in-law's 91 birthday with some Olive Garden catering. Not going to lie, it was delicious. Party went well until it was time to leave, when the 3 year old melted down. Made a grocery run for some Publix BOGO. B+.

Sun.: Church, followed by a quick run. Chores around the yard. We actually got to enjoy the fantastic weather some. Neighbors informed us that they saw a possum go under our house a few days ago. Set a possum trap. Dinner was chicken thighs, cornbread, limas, and the last of the collards from the garden. Early to bed. A.

Mon.: caught possum, released into the woods in a nearby park.

Dinner out with friends on Friday turned into a marathon 3 1/2 hours. I was reminded of this fact when I woke up on Saturday.

Shook the cobwebs off with mimosas on Saturday morning. Can’t play golf because I’m on the IR. Ate, drank, napped pretty much all day. Cooked a great dinner for a girl I’ve been seeing for 23 days to celebrate the longevity of this arrangement.

Watched golf on TV Sunday since I can’t play. Saw a buddy finish third and make a lot of money which was cool.

3/10 and realize I need a backup plan for weekends I can’t play golf or fish.
