Good hire

Allen is a heck of a defensive coach, and he is a HUGE improvement over Goodwin (although it would be hard not to be).

I agree, any of the rumored candidates would have been an improvement. Thankfully the Porkchop experiment is over and we can move forward with a new coach.

The same people finding problems with Allen would have found something to whine about regardless of who we got.

Have you ever heard the word EMPATHY? You probably have no clue but the word KARMA is the one you might want to pay attention to because it has a way of giving people what they deserve. If and when that occurs I’m sure you will want a little EMPATHY!!

I couldn't easily find detail on Wes' 1st year salary, but his 2nd year salary was:

2nd year 2023: $850,000

3rd year 2024: $1,400,000
ACC Champ bonus: $69,000
Making CFP: $51,750

He gets the remainder of his contract if he doesn't take a job over the next two years:

2025 to do nothing: $1,500,000
2026 to do nothing: $1,600,000

While I don't condone harsh language and name calling, there is no need to pity the man or empathize with him and his situation. He was the recipient of one of the most head scratching hires in recent memory, and now he gets compensated at a level his performance does not deserve.

Look at everywhere he has been. The defenses all improved after he took over. We all wanted someone with experience and he has that. We wanted a new LBs coach, he is that. We wanted someone that can coach and adjust, he is that. I for one am looking forward and excited for a new era on defense at Clemson
