Getting to the game

Oct 6, 2015, 8:40 PM

Ok this is my first trip to see the Tigers play since I was in college, which is about too long ago to remember. Since it's a 3:30 start, what would be the best time to arrive to beat most of the traffic? I don't want to arrive too early because my wife is in a wheelchair and don't want her to have to stay in it any longer than necessary, but want yo get there early enough to not to have to sit in too much traffic.

Few questions

Oct 6, 2015, 9:02 PM

Which direction are you coming from?
Do you have to find parking?
I assume the answer to these are "no" but Did you want to tailgate or get into the stadium early to watch warm-ups etc?

The later the game, the easier it is to get in

but the harder it is to get out. 3:30 is optimal for the traffic situation before and after the game. I'd say arrive by 1:30 and I think you should be OK. 12:30 is definitely OK. In case you don't already know, handicapped parking is available at the Hendrix Center in East Campus with a state-issued handicap placard. They'll give her and one guest a bus ride to and from the stadium and the buses do have wheelchair lifts. Hope y'all have a great time and Go Tigers!

I'm coming from Florence. I don't need parking. I haven't decided but I think I want to get in to watch warm ups and just be able to take it all in before game time. I appreciate the responses!

I think you can make it from Florence to Memorial Stadium in about 3 hours and 45 minutes based on mapquest. Looking at about 215 miles.

I appreciate everyone's help! One other question I do have. Are there family restrooms near by in case I have to help her to the restroom?

Family restrooms

Oct 7, 2015, 9:42 AM

Yes there are family restrooms in the stadium. You should not have any problems.

If you are parking at The Hendrix center to take the ADA

shuttle, you can always hang out inside there if you do get there too early. I did that with mom last year when I took her.

If this is your first game in many years I wouldn't wait to leave Florence til 11 am. Too many potential delays getting around Columbia. I would leave no later than 9 am. If you get to Clemson a little early, take it all in. There is not a better place to be on a Saturday. There are lots of changes happening on campus to see. Tiger walk about 2 hrs before game time thru lot 5, the band and cheerleaders coming down from campus to the stadium 1 he before kickoff. Then head into the stadium and watch warm ups. Enjoy your trip and I hope you have a great day. Go tigers!
