Let’s go ahead and start looking at names and just figure out how we’re going to sustain this offensive consistency
I’ll start by naming Charlie Weis Jr., Ole Miss OC, as a top guy.
Has a very good coaching background and the Ole Miss offense is almost identical to Clemson’s. Almost.
Especially with how shaky things seem with Lane Kiffin being there or wanting to go somewhere more equipped for a championship.
Anybody on your mind?

Richardson came from the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach/Lincoln Riley tree. Well, he had workshops with Leach and use to meet frequently with Riley when he was at East Carolina(which is where he 1st met Garrett Riley).
I think Richardson has been around CFB long enough to know how defenses play it. There maybe was som apprehension having him bring his offense straight to college although it was prolific in H.S. Will King(Furman), Justin Worley(Tennessee) and Mason Rudolph(Oklahoma State) were all good enough to make it to the next level and start under his tuteledge.
Two years of working with Riley and a couple working with Coach Elliott - in my opinion he is ready to take the helm.
He's way more of a pass 1st OC though. Probably a 80/20 pass/run ratio with him.
I think if Dabo had any concerns, ask Jeff Scott to join the staff in some capacity. If not, just ask Jeff Scott to call the offense entirely - which I wouldn't mind either.
If I had a magic wand - I would have both of them as Co-OC's.

I would be happy with Richardson. If he changed the offense to something like he did at Northwestern get ready for the air raid.
I like the guy but I do like watching a 230lb RB running over people!

No one expected him to stay as long as BV / Elliot / Scott when we signed him but I also don't think he is going to jump at the first job offer that comes along.
I am sure this is post comes from your reaction to the story on him being considered for the ECU job which I can see no reason why he would take a job with similar pay to have double the responsibilities and a fraction of the resources.

I want to see our offense vs Pitt. I'm sure serious programs will too. It failed against the only elite test we've had. We have had no solid tests since then. ECU is desperate.
If we roll up Pitt and put up points all the way through an ACCCG then we start planning for Riley to leave.

In the past Dabo has taken staff out to explore and connect with other offense minds and styles. This time around it was simply bringing that into the program and instilling it as a Clemson way.
I have to think that with Dabo and now Jeff Scott's and others property investment and development arms going strong, and getting stronger, and with how engaged we are with the kids on NIL and wealth management that we're a great destination for coaches to put their hard-earned money to work expanding rather than having to live on it so much.

well, that would free up a ton of money for the next guy, and Dabo has made lots of great coordinator hires.. just sucks if we have to wait another 7 games before the offense starts clicking.
