Freshman RHP Aidan Knaak gets the ball for the No. 9-ranked Tigers as they seek the sweep of Xavier. At DH again, Nolan Nawrocki moves to the No. 2 spot. He's tied for the team lead with Cam Cannarella with five RBIs.

E2: Clemson 3-1. Cooper Blauser hits his second extra-base hit of the weekend to lead off the inning. After two outs, Xavier intentionally walks Cannarella and then walks Nawrocki the traditional way to load the bags. After working a full count, Wright flies out to LF to strand them.

This is the Wofford transfer Marchal's first appearance as a Tiger. Per Clemson's media info, he was 22-10 with three saves, a 4.16 ERA, .254 opponents’ batting average and 235 strikeouts against 48 walks in 227.0 innings pitched over 61 appearances (37 starts) in his four combined seasons at Furman and Wofford. Erik Bakich mentioned him as a possibility for Clemson's starting rotation at some point this season.
