I think he is getting pushed by the university to utilize the NIL and I don’t think he will comply to their standards. Missing the playoffs this year and not performing in the transfer portal could very easily land him in the hot seat next season.

He does use the NIL. Have you not seen commercials with some players? I've been seeing people with players jerseys on, so im assuming the players are getting their NIL money. Not sure if the Paw Journey counts towards NIL, but it's a very beneficial asset for the athletes.
College football has changed almost overnight. Did Dabo win a championship his first year?

Not just Dabo.
Our program was elite, and was thus one of the best positioned programs to pivot and adjust to new changes. Instead, we’ve been one of the slowest to change.
And it’s Dabo’s fault.

You are not realistic at all. In the last 4 years how many teams have won a National Championship? 1? 2? 3? 4? Everyone is a bust by your standard for Dabo. If you can’t look at Dabo’s record and see how good it is you will never be satisfied!

If we beat SMU and thus get into the CFP, do both not count because (1) the ACC no longer has a formal two division structure -and- (2) the playoffs got expanded to 12 teams?
Got to be ready to contrive new arguments to keep diminishing Dabo’s overall success at Clemson.

Why not at 11mm a year? This is the thinking that I don’t understand. If he and his ego can’t adapt he must go. Be great if he adapts. Why is this hard to understand. Or let it become a non p-4 school/ p-2 school and don’t spend the money.

than morons on TNET. Dabo is and has been great for Clemson, Clemson football and Clemson Sports. He made the ACCCG this year. Doesn't mean much to you because you didn't do the slightest bit of work to get the team there. Those that actually know football and football programs, know the work it takes and appreciate how he handles these things.

If “falling behind” represents taking a team in the midst of the fastest paced, highly transformative era that CFB has ever known, and then maintain the team’s 10 win season streak (with the one line exception exception being 2023) starting 2011 -and further- playing for another conference championship + knocking on the door for another berth in the CFP, then indeed Dabo is a falling behind.
Good luck dreaming that Shane Beamer will ‘fall behind’ same as Dabo.

Why do we keep comparing ourselves to South Carolina? Who cares about South Carolina? They aren't the measuring stick we shoukd be looking at. We used to be in the same category as Texas, UGA, Bama, Michigan, Ohio St. These last 4 years were closer to the category of Pitt and NC State. Look at the ACC; SMU in their first year is in the title game! We laughed and mocked them for joining the ACC. This conference is a joke. It stinks to say but its the truth. Going 9-3 with an ACC schedule isn't acceptable. We played 4 average or better teams this year, in those games we lost 3 of them. The one victory was a last minute miracle against a team playing their backup QB. Heck, even the Citadel ran the ball all day against us. This program is not elite currently. We haven't even beaten any good teams this year. The smart and painful bet would be on SMU to continue this trend. I love my Alma Mater, but this program has major issues right now. The fact we are comparing ourselves to South Carolina should be a huge alarm for us all.

It's just not going to happen. I mean I'm glad I got to feel what being on top of the mountain felt like. 90% of the rest of college football fans will never get to feel it. As far as adapting goes, Clemson WILL be extremely active in the portal going forward. I think the writing on the wall is that we only have 14 players committed in 2025. I expect Clemson to add 8-10 portal additions.

Should he be? Yes. Will he be on the hot seat? No. Practically speaking Clemson cannot afford to buy him out. We definetly cannot afford to buy him out, pay a comprable replacement, and fight to leave the ACC. As for those saying he's earned the right to retire whenever he wants I strongly disagree. Every sport and every legendary coach come to a point where either the game, or the will to coach passes them by. At that point you have 2 options. Allow the legend to continue, brag about past accomplishmens, and press forward with the understanding the program will continue to regress. The other option? Part ways either amicably or forcibly and therefore move the team in a new direction. This choice ultimately lies with Dabo at the moment. It is not too late to right the ship, but changes in philosophy must be made. Early Dabo showed a willingness to adapt and change, veteran Dabo seems to be adverse to change. I'm hoping for a resurgence of early Dabo, veteran Dabo gives me too much concern for the future. If he doesnt adapt, I do not wish to continue to brag about past championships of previous decades while watching a team compete to win 7-9 games a year. These "best" standards would not stand at other top programs, why would we allow them to at Clemson?

This is a fantastic point and aligns with my original thought process. Had he been a great coach? Absolutely. But how many years will it take saying “he did” this and “he did” that before it’s too late? Going to have to pay players a lot more to come into a rebuilding program than it would cost now.

You people are either just trolls or your teenagers who have never known anything but winning provided by Dabo. Either way your point of view is pitiful and greedy but sadly the type of attitude I see all around. Enjoy the next few years because your attitude and people of your ilk have killed college sports! It cannot sustain this current system!

Ok. If he doesn’t change he should hear about it as he collects his checks all the way to retirement. Hopefully he does change But if not let him answer questions every week. Real ones.

Let me clarify. If he continues doing things in the current manner, we continue to lose games and recruits, and we continue to lose to South Carolina you're ok will all of this? As long as he gets asked difficult questions at press conferences that he is under no obligation to answer truthfully or take under consideration? This from the same guy who cancelled his call-in questions? I'm as proud of 2015 and 2018 as much as the next guy but I'd prefer to brag about current success, not wins from the previous decade.

Questions like that reflect why GameKook fans are so short sighted when it comes to their own FB program.
The Gamekook fans are to football as the meth heads are to high energy people. The moment the euphoria of the high has past, they go crazy and do something very stupid.

Just enjoy your honeymoon with sellers. If you’re lucky, some other SEC team will pay him tiles of money and he will leave.
If he doesn’t leave, he’s gonna provide you with 180 yards passing per game next year like he did in 2024. Good luck.

Brother, I asked a question to create a discussion about our coach and your response was, “dumb question”. If that’s your opinion, great, but it’s not adding anything to the conversation.

Absolutely not and never will be.
Dabo has earned the right to leave on his own terms, and that may be much sooner than most of us realize.
I hope I’m wrong, but I have a feeling he’s decided to retire after this season is over and has already told some members of his staff. This may explain why we’ve lost so many commitments recently.

I think if recruits knew he was retiring, the rest of the football universe would know as well. In todays social-media environment a secret like that could not be trusted to recruits to not share. Secondly, no coach, regardless of success earns an indefinite stay. Do you not think if Saban had not retired and began to lose 3-4 games perennially while losing out on top recruits Bama fans wouldn't be asking for his resignation. All good athletes, coaches, executives, etc reach a point where they are no longer in their prime. Is Dabo at that point? I don't honestly know. What I do know is the current results and trends are not great. Dabo can and must adjust. The question is will he.

Dabo has earned the right! Build statues and rename the he stadium ! Dabo is Clemson Football. It will be a sad day when He is gone!
If they were to fire Dabo I would never watch another game !!! Ever!
That’s not gonna happen! Go Dabo! Go Tigers!!

Proud 2011 Alumni. Clemson football is bigger than any one person. I'm not rooting against Dabo, but if he doesnt change his mentality the program will continue to decline. Past success doesn't create an unlimited timeline for future failure.

Who cares about South Carolina? They've never had any success in football. If we're comparing ourselves to them now we really are up the creek without a paddle. The reason myself and others are mad is the success Clemson HAS had on the field. With every passing season that success is becoming a memory, not a future reality.

No but he should at a minimum be sat down and reminded he's paid to win games and play for championships. To do that he has to evolve and make changes to his typical way of doing business.
