Without a great year and a possible natty , we will be back to mediocrity soon. This year and this roster is Dabo's last stand at Clemson. When it comes to the value of programs and the amount of revenue that is brought in per year Clemson doesn't even rank in the top 25. With the current Pay for Play NIL we have to hope for some type of changes or we will not last long against these cash rich schools with overly eager alums who want to see them win and will help them buy the best players. Lets hope this year's team is the real Deal!

Ahh yes, the old you must not know about football rebuttal. I'm as realistic as they come when looking at this stuff.

Clemson with Dabo will never get into an auction for players, but somehow, he keeps winning. He recruits individuals who want to be at Clemson for more than just money. If they come for money only then they will leave for money.

Dabo is using the portal now and will continue to do so to plug holes as he needs.

The drop to 28th in recruiting on 25 was due to NIL which Clemson was not a player as they should have been and/or Dabo chose not to hike up the offer the players already had.

Some of our best recruiting classes were mid teens.

2014 - 16th DW4, Artavis Scott
2016 - 11th Big Dex, Tre Lamar, Trayvon Mullen, Simmons
2017 - 16th Tee Higgins, AJ Terrell, ETN
2019 - 11th Tyler Davis and Ruke (3 star)
2022 - 14th Cade, Blake Miler & Woodaz (3 stars)
2023 - 14th TJ, Woods, OPH, Barnes,
2024 - 15th Sammy Brown, Moore and Wesco
2025 - 28th the year you call out - Amare Adams, Brayden Jacobs, Davidson, Watford, Ware

Some of our "elite" recruiting years.
2020 - 3rd DJ, Breese, Bowman, Tchico, EJ Williams
2021 - 5th Denhoff, Pennington, Beau Collins and Bubba Chandler all 4 stars

Point being class rankings don't always tell the story. Yes, in the higher rated classes we did have some superstars in those classes, but most were small ore zero sum contributors.

You can accuse me of having orange-colored glasses on all day long. Proof is in the pudding. Clemson will pull their fair share of talent and fill holes as needed and still be very competitive with the programs that have unlimited funds to pay players in NIL.

The biggest issue the program has faced the last three years in my opinion was coaching and it appears to me that Dabo has rectified that issue with the hires of Luke, and Allen not to mention several position coaches.

So, my original statement stands. With fans like you who needs enemies. It's healthy to debate football, starters, coaches etc. What I can't stand and will never understand is the "fans" who are constantly doom and gloom.

I'll make a prediction about you. You'll be one of the dozens of "ignorant fans" that show up on this board during a game when Clemson is down by a TD talking about the game being over and how the team sucks, never to be found when the final score shows a Clemson win.

Do you see the type players that headlined each of those classes ? Name one time that any of those recruiting classes got beat by 31 points against anyone. Like I said Georgia beat us 34 - 3 last year and its a reason that happened it wasn't just coaching . How many rushing yards did we give up to Texas ? Say what you want and you are welcomed to your opinion. I know that we aren't recruiting on an elite Level. You go find me a team with a 28th ranked recruiting class that has been competitive on a national stage. It helps that we play in a weak ACC that gives us a chance to fight for a playoff spot. I am confident in this years team based on the roster. That roster will have a plethora of holes to fill after this season and we are not recruiting well to plug those spots with elite players , but hey you got it Super Fan. Lol
