Funny how SC thinks they are more deserving of a BCS...

bid than we are. Sure they won our game, but they have 2 losses to teams outside the top 25. Our two losses are to the current #2 and #6(although not real sure how SC is ranked that high with the 2 losses they have???UT, please). Not saying we are all that deserving, but they certainly aren't either.

I haven't heard much griping about the BCS possibilities in Columbia. Methinks this is a strawman.

clearly we are more deserving but that is not how the system is setup and have no reason to gripe. We are ranked higher, won head to head, and beat more ranked teams current at the time or what they are ranked now.

The only thing you clowns deserve is each other. Idiots like to flock together. I just wish the flock would leave here and go to your coot board. No matter how much you come here and try to talk smack,we don't care. You are not relevant nor will you ever be. Not getting any respect from us coots. Sorry you are what you are. Just wish some scientist could figure out exactly what that is.

Clemson has one....but SC fans seem to be focused on going to the Cotton Bowl instead of back to the Outback as most realize that they are not going to the BCS because they finished behind....
...Auburn, Alabama, Missouri.....
in the SEC not because of anything related to Clemson who is getting in because of FSU going to the MNC game and the likelihood that the BCS does not want Duke and their fanbase in their bowl.

The reason is SEC Champ either goes to sugar or BCS Title game. Then that leaves an at large and noone will get that over Bama and everyone knows that

no its a stupid rule and its not because Clemson is "more deserving". Its basically the BCS games have to pick from the best of the worst. Also its not like your fan base can even fill up the orange bowl.

since counting is too difficult for most of them. USuC has beaten 6 bowl eligible teams----in coot math that equals 7 Clemson has beaten 5 bowl eligible teams----in coot math that equals 1

Not really. Gurley had 12 rushes versus the Tigers versus 30 against the Coots, plus the starters in the secondary that were suspended and the WR that was injured celebrating the UGA TD, etc. A win is a win, though, just glad we open seasons with them which allows us all spring, summer and fall to gameplan for the Dawgs.

Whitehurst you are the epitome of "sour grapes." Five consecutive losses to the coots makes them relevant to every fan on this board whether you like it, admit it, or not. Guess you can resort to name calling now!

There you go with those pet names again, I thought you didn't like PDA. Fact is the only reason they are even considering Clemson is because of the 2 team limit per conference. Otherwise there would be 4 SEC teams in the BCS if you go by ranking the top 10...including SC. You overshadow nothing, you benefit from a bs rule and the fact that there is only one other team in that conference to deal with...Them's facts my little boo-boo.

To suggest that Clemson benefits from only having to worry about one other team is pretty hypocritical considering that the $EC Least is as weak as it has been in decades yet you still can't win it.
On a positive note, Spurrier can buy your team some new rings since you've moved-up to 4th in the $EC.
How do you like them facts.

Who gives a ####? They lost to an unranked team and a 22nd place team who we beat. We lost to 2 top 10 teams. They deserve nothing except their 4th place rings. Hey they are slowly making progress.

It is simpleminded acceptance such as this that will continue our trend of finishing behind the coots in the final standings for the 4th year in a row. And by what most probably is going to be a CU vs Bama orange bowl and with out the lords help another loss, they are going to finish well ahead of us. I don't like losing to them and I don't like looking at their rear in the polls - ever. That's unacceptable and all the rants about we beat this one and they lost to that one, doesn't change the fact we haven't been able to beat them and they continue to finish higher. Until that changes, the rest is just excuses and reasoning. I don't need or want that, I want to beat them and surpass them. If Dabo can get it done, then by god get it done, but it ain't happening far as I can tell.

And what sort of entertainment value do you think us playing them is going to offer the coots? I can't tell if you misunderstood the post or simply don't get it. I only hope that BAMA comes in a week ahead of time and we can get the address of the hotel, send over a few hundred coeds that we bus in from Cootville, get the BAMers all liquored up, and the starting 22 and half the second string break curfew and get suspended for the game, cause barring that I can't figure out just how we match up and how Dabo, Chad and Brent are going to game plan against arguably one of the best ever. I'm going to be praying hard though. I don't think there is anyway we have a WVU beating but I struggle with how we would stop em.

and no-names with better records don't.
Popularity and relevance. Clemson has it. Some negative, but overwhelmingly positive (of course in your little hole of Columbia you wouldn't notice it, or will do what you can to deny it).
What little you have is due to your HOF coach, but you've managed to do a good job of dragging him down with you into the pit of irrelevance. Nobody even talks much about him anymore unless he makes some crazy statement, or shows up for a show drunk.

Clemson earned their 10-2 record.
Unfortunately, they lost 2 games, but both are currently ranked in the top 10. They didn't lose any games they should have lost. They played hard all season and won 10 games, and lost to 2 teams that were better the day they played. (and are currently ranked in the top 10)
I would have preferred that they ended up undefeated and playing in the national championship, but this was a solid year for Clemson Football IMO.

should know that. They are the biggest fans of said conference. They are the ones screaming SEC, SEC, SEC all the time. Each conference gets one BCS and is limited to two at-large teams, if that.
Oh, and they pulled a gamecock and lost to a Tennessee team with a losing record.

Popularity and relevance have nothing to do with this.
It has to do with the BCS not being able to take three teams.
I'm sure the oranges wishes they could choose USC over Clemson.

No denying that the coots beat three teams this year who will be playing in BCS games. They might just have a valid argument, don't you think?
