Just received the below email from YouTubeTV:
Hi XXXXXS,

We have held good faith negotiations with Disney for several months. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to reach an equitable agreement before our existing one expired.

As of December 17, 2021, end of day Eastern Time, all Disney?-?owned channels, including ESPN and your local ABC station, are unavailable on YouTube TV. Members will not be able to watch live or local content from Disney and will also lose access to any previous Library recordings from these channels, including 4K content that is available as part of the 4K Plus add?-?on.
?
We will be decreasing our monthly price by $15, from $64.99 to $49.99, for the Base Plan while this content remains off of our platform. No action is needed on your part. A credit of $15 per month will automatically be issued. Once content is unavailable, this credit will be applied to your next bill after December 17 and will only be visible to family managers in Settings > Billing after the charge has taken place. Please note that if you have a promotional price with YouTube TV, you can still expect a $15 credit. Members who are in a paused state will receive this credit one month after their first charge.

Should we come to an agreement with Disney, we will adjust the price accordingly and will notify members via email beforehand. For the full list of Disney?-?owned channels that are no longer available on YouTube TV and for additional information or updates, please visit this webpage.

Looked at Sling but appears they won’t permit you to watch sports on a downstairs and upstairs TV at the same time. Crazy!

ESPN+ doesn't give you access to the 4 terrestrial ESPN channels just the additional online content. You'll still need a regular TV subscription to watch normal ESPN programming even if you pay for ESPN+
|

All companies will eventually have to go into channel price negotiations at one point or another. I have had Sling, Hulu, my local cable company and You Tube. Sticking with You Tube best by far for myself. This will work itself out but the company they are dealing with are the cause for CATV pricing being so high. Hence they can drop your rate by 15 dollars. ESPN and that bundle charge more per subscriber than anyone else and drives the cost on us up. Then they get more money to pay the conferences. #### flows down hill and this is where we are with ESPN. But Americans can’t live without it so there you are.

I love FUBO.tv too. If you have a "Smart TV" (mine is a 2018 Samsung 65" QN65), then then FUBO app is built-in to the TV, and you don't need a Roku.

I hate all the streaming services that is why I stuck it out with Comcast. I used multiple free trials and did not miss one Clemson game. I have the best internet, the best tv service and the best dvr. I would not be saving more than $10 a month if I switched to a streaming service. Good luck to all you streamers.

It will all be streaming in short order. The company I work for when we install new services do not put boxes in the houses any more. You download the app onto Apple TV or Firestick unless you have a Smart TV and that’s the new service. Basically our telephone/ CATV company is really a broadband company. Just have great internet and you will be fine on anything streaming. I’m sure Comcast is doing the same thing we all do the same thing because it’s the latest technology.

College football is done for the season. Who needs ESPN anyway. I pay for Hulu live 4 months of the year. Then cancel when football seasons over. With the college game going in the toilet, I won’t be renewing my subscription next year.

I’m with you. Hulu just increased the price for Live TV. Once the bowl game is played I’m shutting it down. Probably won’t be back next year. I’ll keep track from a distance but won’t dedicate an entire Saturday to football anymore.

I have FUBO... All the sports channels
ESPN- Espcn2- EspnU ACCN SEC and more.
It is 64.99 a month as well and I love it.
I have Roku but it is available with the fire stick.
I don't regret one minute.. You can try for 7 day trial.

Hulu Live TV now includes ESPN+. And since Disney owns it, you'll never lose the other Disney/ESPN channels that YouTubeTV just lost. It's not as easy to use initially as YoutubeTV, but you get used to it quickly, and it has all of the channels, except the Bally Sports ones.

I went to FuboTV before the football season. It works on Firestick, Roku and Apple TV. In fact on the Apple TV you can watch 4 screens at once. The other two devices shows stats during a game. I like it.

You pay to access the channels and then get bombarded with paid commercials you have to sit through. In the end all these channels come back and renegotiate the prices so honestly these services are all in the same boat. Im sure all of you have seen those messages that come up on screens telling you to call your tv provider if you do not want to lose their channel. Your provider don’t want you to lose that channel but they also do not want to enter a bad deal and have to raise their prices to points that are not competitive.

I can't guarantee this will work but it worked for 9/10 Clemson games I watched this year. Just go to plain old free youtube and type "Clemson vs XXXXX 2021" or "Clemson vs XXXXX Live". I didn't buy a single service this year between antenna and free youtube. The only game I had trouble with was the coot game. It was low def and got taken down a few times but they would put a new feed up immediately. I plan to do this for any bowl game I want to watch.

It’s not Google it’s Disney. In my opinion Google is trying to get a fair price. Disney recognizes the popularity of You Tube and wants a bigger price of the pie. If Disney owns Hulu and everyone switches to Hulu would Hulu not be able to keep increasing their cost. I had Hulu for years and it was not bad but have liked You Tube better. It’s just a mess and with these imploded sports cost will not get any better anytime soon.

channels than any other carrier. All the ESPN family (including ACC, SEC) as well as PAC12, Big10, Stadium and many more available.
I'm giving them a shot right now and thus far FuboTV is better than YouTubeTV on android and FireTV. The Fubo Roku and Samsung apps work really well as well. I'm probably going to ditch YTTV after the free trial if it continues to go this smoothly...

You can stream to different locations but only to one at a time. You and your wife can not watch it at the same time in two different locations. That’s a knockout for me.

....a lesson. They are going down the same untenable path as the cable companies....adding garbage channels that the vast majority don't care about then jacking up the price. Charge me $65 then let me pick up to 30 channels out of their 85 channel lineup. I doubt I even watch 20 of their chitty channels out of the 85 they offer(ed).

I havent had cable or a live tv streaming service in years. I have not missed a single game on tv yet. Any sports you want to watch you can find somewhere online for free.

I’m telling you, Get FUBO.TV. They have All of the Sports (ACCN, all the ESPN’s, Golf…++++), and a beautiful Interface.
I tried Hulu first, and what a mess.
FUBO (“Standard”) costs me $60/mo, the “Family” plan (3 TV’s simul) is $65/mo.
For God’s sake, stay away from Hulu.
EASY RECORDING Too:
Oops, I forgot: FUBO has great Recording, very easy to do.
And, one more thing: I’ve yet to have FUBO go down on me, and I’ve had it about a year.
BTW, I just checked ESPN-U. It's there – not sure why a couple of people said they don’t get it)

Thanks for the heads up about FUBO. I just signed up and so far I am pleased. I wasn't sure what to try after YTTV took off the ESPN channels. If you pay quarterly they add the sports lite package which includes ESPNU

I had switched from Hulu to You Tube for tailgating. Had a rough time getting location situated on Hulu. You Tube was simple in that regard.

I was looking at DishStream or whatever was tied to AT&T and had no luck at getting any help. Tried that for an hour or so with no luck. There was a reason I had left Hulu but can’t remember besides the tailgating issue.

Signed up and canceled my YouTube tv within an hour of the usc game this year since I don’t get the sec network. Thanks for the free preview.
