I’d be rooting for you guys. Arguing for you guys. The works. I’ve been an FSU fan for 50 years. I’ve rooted for the ACC since we joined. I was pumped each time you guys won the Natty.
I joined this board to see what you all thought about the future of the ACC. I’ve longed for the day where Clemson, us, one of the Virginias, one of the Carolinas, Louisville, and Miami were all good at the same time. There have been a couple of years with two good teams. But, I feel like it’s a pipe dream now. I fear that the GoR is close enough to unbreakable that we’re in a slow decline to irrelevancy as a league. I wish someone would propose a tactic/plan that would help all. We do a terrible job of sticking together. It holds us back. But, I’m not in charge.

This is by far the silver lining of the committee's decision. I just wish they had left Texas out and put FSU #3 vs Washington and Bama at #4 vs Michigan. With any luck it could have been Michigan vs FSU in the finals and who knows from there given the defensive nature of each team.

The issue is not sympathy for FSU (btw, sympathy can be found in the dictionary between sh** and syphilis), but more that the system is geared to make sure the SEC isn’t left out. Because they lose against every other conference, “it just means more!”

because I realize what our attitudes would be were we in their shoes.
My problem with the decision is that I believe it was based on presumption and prejudice: presumption that FSU couldn't compete, and prejudice in favor of the SEC. Two acts I regard as dishonorable at best; downright despicable at worst.
Additionally, I have no problem personally with my attitude regardless of what FSU's thinking would be were we the victims. To me that scurrilous decision was a smear at FSU and every member of our conference, regardless of my dislike of the ACC.

Some teams are going to get screwed over in the twelve team CFP. A lot of people on here will be singing a different tune when it’s Clemson. Can’t believe so many are missing the point in all this. We need metrics. Not opinion and speculation.

12-team playoff, assuming the rule for "6 best conference champions" is adjusted for loss of PAC-whatever down to "5 best conference champs" (i.e., "power 4 champs plus best GO5 champ"), will look like this EVERY YEAR FROM NOW ON:
(disregarding seeding)
5 champions automatic bids:
ACC Champ SEC Champ B1G Champ B12 Champ GO5 Champ
7 at-large bids:
SEC championship loser B1G championship loser
Next 3 SEC teams Next 2 B1G teams, unless Notre Dame has had a good year; or B1G had a bad year, in which case 4 SEC teams and 1 B1G team
Several games in the CFP will be rematches of regular season games.
The only way ACC teams make playoff is to win ACC championship.

Agreed. The only real way I'd see the ACC getting 2 teams in would be if Clemson and FSU split the regular season and ACC Championship game and each team ended up at 12-1.

You make a good point. We'd still be upset to get left out at #13, but to be #13 we'd have at least 1 loss, and likely 2 or more losses. That would feel a lot different than going 13-0 and not getting in.

How about Michigan not getting suspended for unprecedented cheating and a member of the playoffs? The B1G didn't get special treatment? It's about time the committee considers what conference an undefeated team comes from. No way in heck FSU would beat Bama or Georgia during the regular season. No way FSU would go through an SEC schedule and be undefeated. Looking at it from another angle if Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas and maybe Tennessee all would be undefeated over there.

and TCU getting dropped from 3rd to 6th in the final CFP poll in its first season after whipping Iowa State in their final game while covering the spread.
The Committee totally screwed FSU - I don't care if they're a rival or not. That was a political screw job and a terrible mark for the game. College football lost another chunk of its soul Sunday. It doesn't have much left there.

FSU got hosed.the ACC got foot stomped... therefore;
Clemson is collateral damage...
We are in the ACC and this decision hits us in many ways with recruiting, money, TV, etc.

Yes. Its pathetic. Clemson fans gnashing their teeth over FSU is pathetic. FSU ended your season. FSU made tshirts making fun of you. FSU said you didnt show them respect by playing hard. FSU ended your Playoff hopes. FSU ended your ACC Championship hopes. FSU broke your players and they quit leading to 4-4 start. FSU cost Dabo his 12 consecutive 10-win season streak. FSU danced on the grave of your season.
FSU dominated you for 20 YEARS.
Have some self respect and stop being Karens for FSU.

That's a pretty short sided way to view the travesty. No one on here likes FSU therefore there is no sympathy. I think you are looking for the word EMPATHY. And really any so called sympathy is for ourselves not FSU because what went down on FSU is exactly what would have went down on Clemson had we been in their position. To have no feeling about what happened to FSU or to cheer it on is not understanding the future implications to Clemson due to being in the ACC and bias against the ACC.
