We blow FSU out if DJU played.
We know DJU and some of those pressures B. Glenn faced "would have been sacks"! They almost certainly would not have had as many 1st downs as Glenn was able to make some things happen long enough to either run for it or pass it to an open receiver.
Those thinking it should have been a slaughter - don't give credit where credit is due.
FSU isn't as bad as their record and the new QB will prove exactly what I am saying. I think they will be far more competitive while Glenn is at QB.
His mobility and ability to extend plays instead of throwing it away will keep their defense fresher( getting 1st downs). Their defense is solid; when they don't have to play the whole dang game because the offense can't move.
If, "the mercenaries" haven't totally quit, they will be a much better football team for the rest of the season while Glenn is at QB. I think DJU is a great human being and high charaecter guy; but he doesn't give his team the best chance to win games.
If you are on of those people who are "not giving Clemson credit" for beating FSU by 16 points:
*whe FSU was super motivated not to let Dabo break a record on their most legandary coach's field.
*1st true road game.
*QB with not as much film on. What do you practice for?

***If none of that hits home; think about Alabama losing to Vanderbilt. A team that from a talent standpoint shouldn't come within 4 TD's of Alabama. Yet, Vandy controlled that game the whole way. You say: Bama was still "high" from the Georgia game; yet you won't give Clemson a dang break b/c FSU was playing with a ton of emotion!
Not right/ not in the least! If you give them a pass and credit; you are a hypocrite not to do the same for Clemson.
FSU is much better than their record and now that Glenn is the QB - they are a better team.

Glenn played pretty well. By far the best QB play FSU has gotten so far this season. They probably have a couple more wins with Glenn as their starter.

Great Post, glad that some people have enough common sense understand what Clemson was actually facing this past Saturday. People, including the Clown podcast @ClemsonFootballLive moderator, Brian ("Bobby Derkins"), who started Saturday night complaining about the play calling, "Dabo yelling run the ball!" This guy thinks he's a football guru, but running the ball was the smart thing to do, yet Derkins, Knight, thinks he knows more than the winningest coach in ACC history!
I get so sick of stupid people posting stupid things on here when obviously know little or nothing about football. Needless to say I won't be watching his podcast again.

Can't agree here.
Same team.
We got held all night and then we magically changed play calling after getting up 17-0.
Keeping the metal to the pedal, we blow them out by 40-50.
We ran the ball 14 times straight. Think abt that. Obvious. Gave them hope.
They had 22 yards on the ground.
They are the same. Talented bunch, but not a good team at all. Much like UF actually....

We didn't blow them off the map because we could not finish drives. We tried FG's 7 times. We dominated them, new QB or not.

With the exception of the INT, I thought Glenn played lights out. The rest of the guys on his offense were abysmal. Glen gives them a shot to improve at least.

We made them look better than they are because Dabo decided winning ugly was better than risking another comeback like last year. He took the air out of the ball and made sure to minimize the chance of mistakes. He knew the only way FSU could come back on us would be if we helped them with turnovers. He took out the younger guys in the 2H and played guys with more experience.
He wanted the win more than he wanted to make a statement. I didn't fully get it at the time, but I better understand it now and don't really have a problem with it.
I believe we will get back to business against Wake in a more dominating way...

Norvell has not used DJU the way Clemson and Oregon State used DJU. He can't pass very accurately at times but he is a bruiser. In 2 years as a starter (2021 and 2022) at Clemson, DJU rushed for over 850 yards and scored 11 TDs rushing. During 2023 at Oregon St. he rushed for about 220 yards, scoring 6 rushing TDs. At FSU -8 yards rushing and 0 TDs through his 5 starts. FSU is bad because Norvell needs to learn how to use his talent.
Glenn has officially started 3 games. So it wasn't his first rodeo.

Nobody believes in DJU though. The Panthers go to Las Vegas and smoke the Raiders after changing quarterbacks.

I'm not saying they are national title contenders. Only that they are better than their record.

I think there are many "undercover SEC-lovers" on TNET who think: "if Clemson doesn't blow everyone out in the ACC; they have no chance against the mighty SEC"!
That's the thing I have observed over and over on TNET.
The thing is: Much like years we won it or should have won it(2015). I was not and am not overly impressed with the SEC "top to bottom"! So, giving them credit for having to go through "a gauntlet" weekly is perception, not reality.
Vandy lost to Georgia State and Mizzou this year. They did beat VT - but it took Overtime.
Missouri - vaunted(powerhouse they are). Or maybe Kentucky, well wait. Mississippi lost to Kentucky who got molly-wopped by the chickens. Perception in this case is not reality.
VT that mega-ACC powerhouse they are took mighty SEC juggernaut Vanderbilt to OT on their home field. Same field they beat Bama on w/o Overtime. Give me a break.

Trouble is in the SEC we would have to play Jawja, Bama, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Ok.,Ole Miss, A&M and the others just for fun...we'd stay beat up all the time...be careful what you wish for...A&M left BIG12 cause they could not beat Texas or out broadcast them..ego trip...be honest, how has that worked out for A&M?

Sensible take.
Keep in mind; not saying they ready to win a National Title or nothing. Just that on multiple plays; having seen a lot of DJU, I think Clemson would have had more possessions knowing DJU's tendencies.
All i'm saying; we are very familiar with his tendencies and at least 3-4 of their 1st downs don't happen. Which gives Clemson what? More possessions; which I think would have resulted in a defense that was more tired and bigger plays for Clemson. If for no other reason because they would have gotten more opportunities.

Give credit where it's due.
Stop being ungrateful for a win.
FSU played their best game; so Clemson wouldn't get their lengendary coach's record on the field he made famous!

I thought and think Glenn gives them a lot more hope for the rest of the season. He didn’t play any worse than DJ and Glenn doesn’t have near the playing experience. So one might say Glenn is ahead of DJ when comparing stats combined with actual game experience.

Glenn is a huge improvement.
But keep in mind, with Tampa, DJ FSU was as bad as their record.
With Glenn they can actually have a drive and score points.
But they still have mediocre talent and less than mediocre culture. They have some serious problems.

That makes sense to me. The people discrediting Clemson's win and "not large enough" didn't watch many FSU games prior to the Clemson game.
FSU was clearly more into the game against Clemson. We got a much better effort than other teams due to multiple factors. And, this one you posted makes a lot of sense now!

Ehhhh...... Glenn played ok. Nothing great! We played poorly all nite IMO. Offense was sluggish & couldn't finish drives!! Constantly settling for FGs & a couple were blocked! As poorly as we played, we still covered the spread. Their offense is atrocious whether it's Glenn or DJ. I will say the other guys on their O seemed to play a bit more inspired so I'll give Glenn that! But ask anyone that truly knows QB play & they'll tell u Glenn is average as ####

Agree BretFSU! STEVIE WONDER can see it.
As a Panthers fan, when Andy Dalton was inserted, win or lose - he brought a much different energy to the team. Players felt like - "we have a fighting chance now"! No guarantees, mind you - "but at least we have a chance now"!
And that makes a huge difference in mentality of a lot of players. I don't think everyone who is discrediting Clemson for beating "THIS" version of FSU on the road clearly do not understand.
Who wants to be on the team that allowed "A Visiting Coach" to take over "YOUR SCHOOLS" legendary coach's record? Nobody!
Plus, a feeling like they have a real shot of competing with a new QB.
Clemson got the best shot FSU had at the time.
After watching FSU's previous games; I am confident in saying that without hesitation.

The rest of the season will be interesting for FSU. The QB will get better and better - but defensive coordinators will get to see more tape to combat this. Will be interesting to see which way the scale tips.

Glenn made some good clutch throws... those 2-3 that hit his receivers in the hands and they dropped could have made the game a lot closer. Hopefully our secondary got some good film to figure out how those guys got open.
