I'm not sure why they would sacrifice a spot for next year when we have some seriously elite OL talent that we can pull in. It's just odd to me that we are an elite program but are doing things to purposefully handicap ourselves.

He doesn't have to be elite in high school to be a beast at the collage level. I trust the coaches judgement. after all, we are where we are because of their judgment.

So he will start class in August.. but will he be on campus for the summer workouts? What about being on the team through August and the Spring? If he gets a full year in the program to learn and workout, then that is a pretty good deal.

But doesn't the fact that he plays with Dabo's son means that Dabo is biased to offer him irregardless of if he has talent? I'm not saying that this kid might not play one day.. But we are in on some consensus top100 OL for next year and I'd hate to miss out on a big time player like we did Clayton.

family, plays on team with son, etc. I'm with you, when I saw the breaking news I thought it was going to be big. We are either taking big time fall backs, or just giving out scholies to friends. Bottom line is it is annoying, but Dabo is the greatest coach in Clemson history.
With a 75-21 record, 4 division titles, 3 ACCCG appearances, 2 ACC Championships, 3 Orange Bowl appearances in the last five years, wins over Auburn twice, FSU three times, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma twice, Ohio State, Notre Dame, a college football playoff appearance, semi-final victory, and national title game appearance in his first seven full seasons, he will never ever even sniff a hot seat at Clemson. He can pretty much offer a scholarship to anyone he wants. I just hope there's some kind of limit to it.

for the last five consecutive seasons. And his first full season as head coach win total was 9. So, like I said, will never, ever, ever, never, but never sniff the hot seat at Clemson, nor should he.

of the offers like the one from Alabama. But there is no conflict as to the fact that Dabo is the best coach, face and voice of Clemson football ever. And honestly, I really don't know if this guy or the kid from Alabama will be good or not. If Dabo wants to offer them, then that's that. Dabo does more for Clemson football in one work day than I've ever done and I have been going to games since 1971.

Yes I agree. To say we are handicapping ourselves makes you Sir, an ### hat. He's a 4 star recruit, and giving Clemson an extra year just like redshirts do.

Yep. Watched the video, kid is good and likes to hit and finish. Moves decent for a big guy, blew some folks up pulling. Maybe moves a little too well on those downfield blocks ahead of receivers lol. No problem with this pick up. You never know who is going to step up on the o-line. Phillip Price says hello.

Yes, we have THREE OL studs already in this class. The staff must have seen something to offer a gray shirt. There will be attrition next year for sure. I can count Watson, Williams, Gallman (prob), Leggett, Guillermo, Crowder (?), Hopper just on the offense. Defensively, Boulware, Watkins, Tank off the top of my head.

Our staff has done an awesome job at at picking up great talent. We were the best team with the best record with the recruits our coaches chose.

This guy has the right mentality and size. I love that he finishes blocks with authority. As a former O-Linemen I think this guy is grossly underrated. He must not be a beast when it comes to measurables like the 40, bench, squat, etc. His technique isn't bad for a guy coming out of HS and his pad level was pretty darn good too. He does need to do a better job at keeping his hands inside so he doesn't get called for holding. I def see this kid playing in the 2 deep at some point and time at Clemson.
