Anyone found a good budget friendly options yet? I've been checking prices and flights into Austin, be ready to drop some bread $900+ .

Best options i've found so far are from Atl to Houston Frontier and Spirit (Under $250) But i've hear horror stories about those 2 companies. Delta is $560 and a 2 hour 30 min drive to get to Austin.

Charlotte to San Antonio might be the best option i've found so far. $540 non stop flight from Charlotte and 1hr 45min drive to Austin. TO flight out of GSP to San An thats going to be $750.

I'm guessing tickets are going to be around $300 Each? Might be watching this one from the house on the big screen.

Don’t do that. Just fly frontier if you have too. This maybe the only time you will ever get to see the Texas stadium plus our Tigers need you.

I'm sure the prices went up as soon as the game was announced. San Antonio would not be a bad drive, if that is your best price option. I have heard of folks flying into Killeen over the years which would be an hour drive into Austin. It is where Fort Hood is ... or whatever it has been named.

Fly to Dallas or Houston. Both big airports and a couple of hour drive each.

I fly spirt and frontier frequently. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with those airlines. Just have to pay to check a bag. Highly recommend doing that!

I've flown Frontier a few times in the past when they had good deals, and my experience wasn't much worse than flying Delta. The main difference is that they charge extra for a lot of things. There's a fee if you want to choose your seat, if you want to bring anything more than a personal item (I usually bring a small backpack, never been charged for it), and so on. Just be aware of the fees before you show up at the airport.
