No mention of Philip Price?

I suppose the drops will be quick and the ball should be out of Tajh's hands before he can take a blindside hit, but I think having a former walk-on tight end at left tackle warrants his mention as one of the most important people who need to step up this season.

I don't think there's anyway he actually starts ... I think that was just motivation for Thomas coming out of spring.
Also, I'd prefer Smith out at tackle and Cloy at guard rather than Price out there at LT.

Xavier Brewer scares me

I thought that he made WAY too many mistakes last year on blown coverages. Is it from being too aggressive or not knowing his position duties? If he is in charge of recogizing the coverages, I hope it is the first option. There is a ton of talent out there and for all to be on the same page & understanding thier duties is critical. If not, at least we have the depth to send in someone else to do the job right.

that they spotted the ball on the one-yard line instead of ruling it a touchback on that interception against Auburn.

It was the right call. If his foot had landed on the line or in the endzone, than it should have been a touch back.

Five players WHO must step up. Good Lord that's terrible grammar. And when you see stuff like that, it makes me stop reading right there.

I was actually joking about stop reading because you guys do a terrific job. But there's no way that "that" is acceptable for people in this reference. Ask any English teacher and that becomes clear.

For one who isn't paying to read this site right now, you sure are pitching a fit like you're entitled to something
Crump and co. do a good job keeping us up to date, don't #### on their effort. And if you're going to, make sure you're actually right first.

I need to point out just a few corrections needed in YOUR post:
1) "Who" is actually correct for the first sentence, so you're point is erroneous. 2) You forgot the comma after "Lord" in you second sentence. 3) In your 3rd sentence, you made 3 mistakes. You are not supposed to start a sentence with "and" at the beginning. Also, you confused pronouns (you; me) which changed the meaning of the sentence from what you intended. Finally, you also used 2 different tenses, which are grammatically incorrect.
I tend to think of the whole glass house/throwing stones metaphor as I read your post.
Oh, and I'm "just kidding" too.

I should have typed "your" instead of "you're" in the line about your point being erroneous. I tend to mistype that one a lot.

He will likely start opposite Brewer. Good for him -- he's a senior AND has earned it.
The foregone conclusion is that Ellington or a WR will return kicks and punts. I would not be surprised (although not likely) if one of our DBs gets the opportunity.

My input on the 5.

First off Tajh Boyd... for a young man whos being called,a pocket passer.Hes yet to show any signs of being that at all.Boyd in fact should feel no pressure at all tucking the ball and running.Probably for the 1st few games, running the FB might just be his calling card. But with Boyd's pressure to produce, comes Dabo's pressure for him to produce after a lackluster 2010 season. And any lack of a downfield passing game could produce some frustration for a young, but talented bunch of receivers.
DeAndre Hopkins... IMO,Nuke isn't even the most talented receiver on the team. Not 2nd,3rd or even 4th.So from that stand point, there might be some pressure on him to stay in the mix. Especially once the new guys find their way.But there is alot to be said about just CATCHING THE BALL. And that he does.
Andre Branch/Corico Hawkins. Sure their leadership is a must, but there is talent all around them if they'll just do their part.
Xaiver Brewer This won't make some of you happy, but Brewer shouldn't even be in the 2 deep on either side.So why hes even a factor on this list bewilders(sp) me.The top 2 corners from day 1 should be Breeland and Peters with Robinson & Jenkins as backups.
If I made a top 5 list of players who MUST PRODUCE THIS YEAR,it would look like this. #1 QB Tajh Boyd #2 OL Philip Price/Brandon Thomas #3 OL David Smith/Mason Cloy #4 DT Brandon Thompson #5 Rb Andre Ellington
#21

...on a soph. QB with no starts under his belt. I think Ellington has to have a good, injury-free year for the O yo have a prayer. After that, all of the receivers have to step up in order for us to be a downfield threat. Alo, the linebacker and DB core are our biggest question marks. They too have to step up.

Honestly they all need to step it up! I am really sick of hearing it from USuC fans about the butt kicking. I wanna dominate them like we did 63-17! But thatll come soon.
