This is the third fire alarm that has gone off at my school this week. I believe we are up to 13 for the year (averaging just over one per week). All of them are due to a select few students smoking in bathrooms.
From my understanding, the alarms go off and the cameras catch the students leaving the bathroom. But, they discard of any device (vapes most likely) that triggered the alarm. When they are searched, nothing is found. So far, very little has been done to stop this from happening. The same select students continue to set off the alarms due to smoking, without receiving any penalties. Our school has to pay a fine to the fire department every time they show up. It's pretty terrible.
I'm at a top 10 public school in the state, btw. I have no knowledge if other schools are suffering from this same problem.

The problem at my school is that we have a select few teenagers smoking in the bathrooms and facing zero repercussions. But, what can ya do?

My physician warned me about that stuff, as matter of fact he immediately put me 2 packs of nonfiltered menthols a day to keep me shed of that poison vape stuff, that 3-4 years ago and I've never to that stuff. My Doctor wants me up to 4 packs a day by the end of January. Quitters never win and winners never quit.

This really just happened. We had our 2nd fire alarm of the day. 4th of the week. We walked back inside.
10 minutes later, the fire alarm went off again. 5th time this week. 3rd time in the last hour.
Insane.

It’s been a major problem for at least two years at a Richland 2 high school. Like multiple times a week for two years and they seem to have no ability to stop. Had to take a child out of school primarily because of this.
