I would think Dabo sits him out next week and rest the injury. I think we'll see him back on the field for the Louisville game

Significant time...MRI results will confirm initial diagnosis and how serious it really is. Time for Thompson to step up.
Good news is he was back in locker room after the game and moving well. It could have definitely been worse.

Broken #6 vertebrae out 4-6 weeks could be longer even season ending depending on how his body responds. Once the swelling goes down he will have another MRI probably no earlier than Tuesday so don't expect to hear anything official before then.

I like 4-6 better than 6-8 that I was told. But yes, fractured vertebrae is correct. MRI will determine how bad it really is.

I hate this for mike. I was really pulling for him to have a big year. Thankfully it wasn't anything more serious and he will have the opportunity to continue his career and follow his dreams to the nfl like I know he will.

slightly similar to this one catch by michael Palmer back in the day. made the catch, went flying from the defender's hit, landed clutching the ball, resulting in a much needed 1st down . . . + a concussion.
