Keeping in mind that I am a proponent for Cole Stoudt starting at QB, but the 'best' QB's are those that can PASS and RUN - and Watson can do both very effectively. Reminds me of Woody Dantzler in that respect. I prefer QB's in college that can run and pass, even though that doesn't necessarily transfer to the NFL. I still want Cole to start as many games as possible this year as he has earned the right to assume that role. I hope Watson is not accident-prone as he is already injured. This guy can definitely make CLEMSON a Top FIVE team as long as he stays healthy. Good luck to both of these talented QB's.

With our D this year and questions on offense, Stoudt will

be in an AJ McCarron roll. Just don't make huge mistakes. It would be nice to get extra production from a dual threat, but those would be negated by true freshman mistakes.

According to a lot of t-netters on here and the sport writers. D Watsons will be ready for the NFL after maybe a couple of quarters of college FB But he better be spending a lot of time in the weight room and at the training table!!!

I don't believe in "earning the right" based on tenure.

Sounds too much like a teacher's union slogan. While I wish Stoudt the very best and hope he excels at the QB position I think the person who earns the right is the one who will help Clemson be the most successful when the game is played.

with a similar finish. Except Cole will likely show himself to be a better QB than Leak.

Old news indeed. And Luginbill is just making news. He's a recruiting "specialist" for espn. He's just talking to be heard. Everyone, especially here in Clemson, is aware of the talent Watson has. In addition, Luginbil loves running QBs. He's never said a good word about Cole. Seems not many folks do. But all he's done is perform and has outperformed ALL backup QBs in the nation by a long shot. Led the nation in passing % of all QBs with min of 100 attempts. But the Luginbills of the world feel a QB can't be good if he's not going to run all over the field. Interesting.....that 18 of the last 23 national championship QBs have been pocket passers!
