Nope. He went after 2 players he thought would make our roster better. That kills the thought he won’t take a portal player.
Given the track record do you blame an O-lineman for picking either Wisconsin or Michigan?

..I can't even believe some of you are still trying it.
Going after 2 people and not getting them doesn't mean we are using the portal to its potential.
It's about trajectory if nothing else. We went from elite to not even making the ACC championship game more than likely during this portal era.
Just because you don't want to see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

That in the years that the transfer portal has been around, no one of any value wanted to come to Clemson....but will go to any other college in the nation? I'm not buying it.

I’m telling you it 100% happened. Whisky and UM puts O-linemen in the NFL. I don’t blame them for their choice.
Fact remains Coach Swinney went after 2 portal players.

They pick their arguments. The teams that are good right now are the same teams that are always good. Nothing changed really.
Coots have a bunch transfers, Florida, Nebraska, TCU, Arkansas, etc. Nobody bragging about their success. Pick and choose arguments.
Once we get past this Covid fiasco where Dabo isn't caught by holding every schollie offered even to players that would have been gone 1-2yrs ago, his ability to manage roster will be easier. Or he could send players to the portal like other teams but I don't want to change our philosophy of backing any commit until they get degree, lose eligibility or leave.

Dabo sends players to the portal. It is not for on field performance. Kendrick got sent to the portal. I have to imagine that Fred Davis and Malcolm Greene were encouraged to look elsewhere. TJ Dudley was sent to the portal. Lyn J was probably encouraged to leave.
