Sponsorship opportunities for Clemson Athletics could be lucrative if your plan were to get serious consideration.

I can see it. ‘Eli Lilly chooses Clemson to represent Wezgovy as their partner for the college football fans market.’

Before and After shots (the Before being fat Clemson fans in … cough cough … ‘wide’ seats and the After being skinny Clemson fans in the narrow seats) will be the heart of the marketing image & commercial campaigns.

Create upper deck over The Hill side but not touching The Hill. Plus true with that upper deck addition plus seat closer together could boost plus 100,000 plus

But now want it to be nothing more than a grass entrance strip since the regular hill attendance looks so bad now.

Do they only show the hill in the second half? We sit one section over from the hill and it is usually pretty full (and noisy) in the first half.

That’s what I’m thinking…although everything seems healthy for now..I anticipate a decline in tolerance of nil and portal for college fans and supporters across the
County … especially if guidelines aren’t put in place. The current system is absurd..and the personal return on investment seems unsustainable…

It would next to impossible to bowl the upper decks. They are different sizes and slopes.

Wasn’t the west end zone built in a way that they could add seats above it and connect the two sides?

You could also wrap over the top of the hill as well or just the corners either side of the scoreboard.

All that said, we should only add seats if we join the sec or whatever super conference thingy comes out. One of the reasons we aren’t full is our opponents have crappy fan bases that don’t travel heavily and aren’t “that” exciting even for our own fans. It’s full for scar, fsu, lsu next year, ND, etc.

I thought the same thing.

The seat slopes don't matter. It can be overcome with a method like Ohio State did to fill in the open end of the Horseshoe.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

this is the plan....

I've seen future renderings of adding another luxury area in West EZ and connecting lower deck. Only way I see expanding is adding more seats there, but then putting in individual stadium seats (like pros) on South and North side thus losing some seats there. FSU has done is, UF is starting process soon. Got to make experience more lux and increase $$$ flow. Bleacher seating in prime areas is very slowly being phased out around the country.

Hard to envision, even with great success, CLEM needing more than 100K in the near future...although school keeps growing...

Exactly how I heard it. But I thought it would be cool to partially expand the uppers out over the west end zone and stop short of the oculus. So you do t get the full horseshoe but you just get close to the oculus. Then the differences between the two uppers wouldn’t matter as much.

Stadium seats need to get bigger and capacity decreased. Not increased. On campus parking is going to be more scarce next year.

I would couple that with actual seats. Tired of paying what we pay to “share” our measly aluminum real estate with either the squeezers or the widebodies.

If this is becoming NFL Jr., the stadiums need to keep up.

No to expansion. Amenities for the seats we have. A while back IPTAY sent out a survey asking what opinions were on various new configurations the stadium needs. With TV the way it is now the upper deck corners are difficult enough to fill.

I don’t expect that there will be much need for expanding stadiums, and that the funds that would have gone to expansion will be redirected to NIL.

Aren’t NFL stadiums generally smaller than college? I guess I am kind of a “get off my lawn” type, but college football is losing its charm, and not slowly. I guess charm and culture are outdated concepts now. All I know is that MY fanny yes in a seat about 1/2 as much as it has been at any time over the last 45 years, and less than 1/4 of the time it was in certain years.

There were talks on changes to the hill side and I believed they were delayed but not shut down. They did the work on the west side last off season and I was looking for them to start something over on the East side in the very near future. Not sure in the end if it was actually going to increase capacity though. There were drawings at one time floating around on what it would look like. Plans could have been squashed for all I know just going on things I have read the last few years, and have not heard anything new on their plans in a good while.

If a move to the B1G or SEC is on the horizon I would think Clemson would want to get ahead of it though. Those 2 conferences would easily get 10,000 more folks to an away game at Clemson.

If we boosted stadium to around 100,000 could easily sell out stadium for big games. Couple SEC or and BI6 games would be sell outs.

These were the plans before COVID. They decided to put a hold on the seating on the hill side, so now we just have an eye sore of an oversized video board.

I think less seats but more premium seating would be the next move. With what they are charging and the aging of the fanbase, I would not see the ROI on more seats.
